It works for Road Rage who hasn't had cartoon model precedence, but Tracks did.

Pointing out the old adage. "No News is Good News"
Ever wonder if we didn't know who the designer was or just slap a sticker designed by Hasui. Would the design be a conversation at all? Is this a form of "designer" loyalty albeit a subconscious one?

I once dated a girl called Tamara, she was from Serbia and quite nice.

That being said, it's not something I normally do but admittedly, have been overly critical of poor ol Hot Rod.
Lucky for him I'm one of those blinkered collectors who just gets all first-release Masterpieces, regardless of how flawed they may be.
That depends on your point of view, and what characteristics you consider. MP-28 isn't better at everything. As a display piece, especially in robot mode, MP-09 is superior, in my opinion. Once you start handling it and fiddling with it (Primus forbid, attempt to transform itfenrir72 wrote:Compared to MP-09, This one would be much much better.

He looks simpler than MP-09, but until you actually have it in hand, or at least see a video review of someone having it in hand, you don't know. No one does. Yes, I realize MP-09 is generally regarded as a failure in terms of an actual transformer when it comes to the purpose of transformation, but (again, in my opinion) he looks acceptable if not exceptional in both modes when displayed. Same goes for the TRU version. That is and will be my MP Hot Rod. I may get MP-28 to display in vehicle mode, but he will rarely, if ever, see robot mode. But again, I will wait until I see at least a review of someone having it in hand, because just like you, I don't know how he is. I'm just looking at photos like the rest of you.

You missed the important part of my quote.........Lambor and Bb analogy. So much concerns and yet those two are really really good.

No no, I saw it. I just never had a problem with either of them.
Hot Rod really is the first MP figure that I haven't liked from the pictures.

I was ok with the initial pics and like everyone, I want a good rodimus (and shockwave). As you might read from above, I warmed up to this guy due to how cool his transformation might be so I went to amiami to preorder him. While on the page, I took a look at the pics and saw this:
Sorry to be crude but F that STUFF! That backpack is attrocious. I thought it was maybe 2 layers like the animated toy but this is insane. It just keeps extending outward and I really hate how his chest doesnt tab in smoothly with his side, it creates this ugly gap. Yeah, I am not paying 60-70$ for this. I am back to my original strategy, waiting for the reviews, then waiting for Hasbro then waiting for a sale.
Hopefully the Canadian dollar gets better in those 4 years before all this comes to fruition.

I don't mind Ironhide, I know a lot of people have expressed complaints about him, but I think I'm more of the mindset "ERMAGHERD IT'S IRONHIDE!!!!1111!!!11!!!" and I'm blindly overlooking potential faults.
Tracks, I like. I know people feel he's out of proportion but to me it kinda suits the character.
Those two aside, I am also a little baffled by the engineering of Hot Rod and Shockwave.
Looking at the pic Billy-Jim just posted, it looks like the most complex part of his transformation is in all that back kibble. Like they've really gone out of their way to engineer the heck of out of him.
But when you look at Shockwave, it looks like they just took his original G1 version and gave him a bit of articulation. Simplified engineering, and it works.
They should have done that with Hot Rod and we would have gotten a much better result.
