Did you guys use Rinkya? I got that link from someone earlier on this thread.

I'm using them for the first time, and have not heard back yet. They say to wait 48 hrs.

I've got my fingers crossed. :-P
I've placed an order at two different companies, the one that got back to me faster was actually not Rinkya so I haven't heard from them yet either. But normally they are very good to me so I'm sure they'll get back to us soon.

Even though they are expensive I would like to get one from them anyway since they've done me a lot of favours, sometimes though I question the wisdom of my loyalty complex.

Hydra/blackgears.com lives in Japan and he was taking orders at $140 shipped for the 1st pair, $130 for each pair after. Don't have his information off the top of my head but it's in the allspark and tfw2005 thread. I've dealt with him and he's pretty reliable.

Bodhar2000 is also in Japan and he had it down to $125 a pair, $75 for one shipped. His information was somewhere in the tfw2005 75 page thread. He said he was limiting orders because of the hassle since this is his first time doing it so you can try to contact him also.

King Konvoy (sp?) on the tfw2005 thread also was offering it, don't know the details.

I've not heard from Rinkya yet either so I contacted this site which I've used several times in the past for buying items from Japanese stores ,

http://www.m-world-service.com/index,html

Masato got back to me within a day and he's currently checking out the details and will e-mail me with a total once he's got the order in. The cost of each figure works out at approx £15.26 plus approx £2.42 for shipping to Masato then there's his commission and whatever it costs him to ship the items to the UK.
These won't be the cheapest TF's I ever get but they'll still work out plenty cheaper than the Botcon set which is the main reason I'm getting them.

Sounds interesting. Would let me know how much it costs you in the end? As I might consider the service for future use.

No. I ordered them myself with help from a member of TFW2005 pointing me in the direction of exactly which buttons to push. These symbols mean this, so that over there is "register" and that on the other side is "log in" and so and so forth. But I ordered them in my name with my credit card, directly from the site. They're being shipped (In September) to my friend who is currently stationed at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, Japan.

From there, he'll put the two into one box, run down to the post office, get a shipping quote, ship them internationally to me, and then I Paypal him whatever the shipping quote is. Please do note that this is my personal friend who is doing this as a favor to me, with no profit to himself. Therefore, its only costing me 3650 Yen a figure plus whatever the shipping quote he gets to send them to me is.

Aye, First Gen is correct. What really will hurt your wallet is waiting and getting them later from a place like BBTS. Minus whatever its going to cost for my personal friend to ship these to me internationally, these figures are dirt cheap for what they are; being Japan exclusives. According to XE.com, the current exchange rate right now is $1 USD = ¥104.225 JPY so both of these guys are just $35.02, shipped to my contact.

Tekka... Aye, you've got a point. 'Tis early morning for them.

After I pointed him at them.

You will be mine, Thundercracker. Oh yes, you WILL be mine. And he shall join Erector in my "League Of Unfortunately Named Transformers." Then I'll pick up Windbreaker and Slag.

Oh dear, until now I had never considered the implications of Thundercracker's name. Now I'll never be able to look him in the eye again.

Always surprises me when people go on about how Slag or Erector have dodgy names, but totally overlook TC. Makes you wonder what he got up to in the past to earn the name.

How would one go about ordering through Fan2Fan? And do they ship to Canada?

What's the deal with Fan2Fan? You just email them, mention the two figures and where in the world you are and they get back to you with a quote?

Can you pay with Credid Card? Cause I'm still playing email ping pong with Paypal trying to sort my account

I believe you can use a credit card.
Worst case you ask and they say no, and you borrow someone else's paypal. LOL

Well fantofan and Rinkya have both gotten back to me saying they're processing my order but haven't gotten to the payment stage with either of them yet.

I can't believe I'm sitting here with all this money, yet nobody wants to take it. =( I can't give it away these days.

BTW, look who's made his first appearance on eBay:

There's another guy too, doing the orders for $69 a pop.

I was considering getting one... but I don't know what I'd do with another Thundercracker.

It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Some people are going to stock up on them to resell. The by product of an unlimited exclusive is market saturation. Things may be different if it were limited to 2000 pieces though. Prices will drop when sellers realize the big spenders already bought the figure on their own. By December, one should be able to get a TC for $50 shipped with the smaller demand.

I have the Botcon set and I figure I paid $245 for the toys ($40 for the convention). Split 6 (Mirage included) ways = $40 per toy. So that's pretty close to the same. I can live with that, and wish others that are upset by this whole deal would be to.

Which is the beauty of neutral third party sellers who aren't into the fandom. They charge standard flat fees instead of whatever the hell they want.

Even my order from Rinkya isn't going to cost $90, and that's with shipping.
