I might try a Leader Bulkhead, though. As I said in the other thread, I like the idea better, especially with the shoulder "wings" potentially mirroring G1 Motormaster's

Actually, the headmaster accessory that comes with Leader-Class Bulkhead is already shaped like a refrigerator box... Hmmm...

What's sad is that I actually want this.

I've decided that when I get my boxset, I'm going to recast the head and use it for as many customa as possible.

I really wish I had photoshop. I'm sitting here doing nothing, but recover so I actually would color all of the Animted figures and put that block head on them.

This. Is. Awesome. Batmaster? Motorbat?

All of these photoshopped images are great. But, it honestly brings up my biggest complaint with MM. To me, with the aesthetics of animated OP, the MM head just looks like a headmaster. I'd like to see frenzy/rumbles attempt at a custom Animated MM.

Download Gimp, it is basically the same thing, is totally free, and available for all platforms including Linux.

But as far as the Motormaster discussion, I do like the LOOK of Prime in MM colors, and I'm a BIG fan of the Nemesis/black repaint scheme, but in this case I think it is just lazy and fails to invoke the character.

To me, that looks like a truck with a box on its bed, not like a semi with a trailer. Let alone the fact it's a garbage truck.

Another reason is that in G1 Prime and Motormaster had (roughly) the same alt-mode. Translate that into Animated, and you basically get (yet another) Prime clone by default. Different style head and body? I say, original body destroyed by Cosmic Rust (see the Bots of Science book) and his head transplanted. Makes sense, no?

I don't agree with this.

For me, the main thing that made Motormaster, Motormaster was not that he was a semi, like Prime, but that the bulk of his transformation came from his trailer, and that his cab became his feet.

Of course no existing TFA mold has these characteristics, but I feel that you evoke more of the character if you use a design that includes a box element.

If I was to redesign Motormaster as a new toy, I would try to make the bot and alt modes comparable to Optimus in size. To do that, I think a box truck would be a perfect choice.

If you yank the forks, Wreck-Gar is a pretty normal looking, flat nosed box truck.

Yeah, I can't help but think that given the Optimus Prime body, the blocky head, Animated's treatment of Headmasters, and the name "Motormaster", you could easily write the story around explaining why he looks like he does.

Well, I finally voted for 'I have my own idea' since I am not, nor was I ever, going to botcon.

Since I did vote for that, here was my idea for the year. It's a terrible idea, that would have invoked more conflict than this has and garnered even less interest, but it nags at me nonetheless.

Pick the appropriate number/size of exclusives from the following list, and note that some of them might perhaps be best repainted in their Transmetal colors rather than their first season colors, to distinguish them from a previous Botcon set:

Cheetor - Remolded from Animated Blurr - TFCC 2011 Exclusive

Wasp - Remolded from Animated Bumblebee - Hasbrotoyshop.com 2011 Exclusive (make the one canon character easily attainable)

Optimus Primal - Remolded from Animated Swindle - No, really, he has Munky arms, Optimus Prime's chest, a whole slew of pop-out weapons and wings, and he's a good size.

Rattrap - Remolded from Animated Arcee - given a tinier head to make the shoulders relatively broader the mold would look much less effeminate (if not necessarily masculine). Her vehicle mode already looks like his transmetal dragster mode, and they're supposed to be related.

Rhinox - Repainted from Animated Voyager Bulkhead - I think the mold would look decent in those colors.

Dinobot - Remolded from Animated Sentinel Prime - He's got the sword, and a 4x4 truck just 'feels' right. Plus he'd look good opposite Primal if the latter were remolded from Swindle.

Airrazor & Tigatron - Repainted from Animated Jetfire & Jetstorm respectively - Too bad you can't swap the chins. Jetstorm's face is more effeminate, but I like Jetfire for Airrazor because of the goggles and plumage. Obviously, they 'combine' to form 'Tigerhawk'.

Silverbolt - Repainted from Animated Blitzwing - Colors should look good, and the ground/air fuzor aspect is retained.

Depthcharge - Remolded from Animated Lugnut - I'm totally stretching just to put him on the list.

The Predacon selection gets really weird:

Terrorsaur - Repainted from Animated Starscream - The obvious choice would be Swoop, but it seems like if you were going to give one bot his beast mode you should give them all their beast modes, and the colors should look good on Starscream's mold.

Tarantulas - Remolded from Animated Lockdown - the four-eyed headlights in his car mode, the lankiness, and the general creepiness factor.

Scorponok - Remolded from Animated Wreck-Gar - He kind of has the pincer thing going on in both modes, and I just think that's how Scorponok would have ended up - as a garbage truck.

Rampage - Remolded from Animated Shockwave - He has 'two' alternate modes, a tank and a thing with 'legs' and mandibles, the double robot modes and the faction swapping symbol would allow you to portray the fact that he was created as a good guy but changed into a horrific monster (with claws!).

Megatron - Repainted from Voyager or Deluxe Animated Megatron - sometimes the obvious solution is the best.

Quickstrike - I got nothing
