Burn wrote:The attempt to tie it into G1 with the reference to the "Great War" and snippets of the G1 cartoon was nothing but a giant fanwank to get a bunch of G1 fanboys excited. There is simply no way this could tie into G1 at all. There were just way too many plot holes throughout the premiere to connect Animated to G1.

Nothing's changed there. By the end of it they'll have made Ultra Magnus an embarrassment constantly giving Optimus orders that Optimus constantly disobeys because "he knows better" and at the end of the day he'll be the hero and Magnus will have to acknowledge him as his better, or at the very least, equal.
Thus making Optimus Prime the greatest Autobot hero ever. Again.
And that's really going to **** me off .... because I had my hopes up that for once Magnus would be able to step out of the shadow of Optimus.

Predaprince wrote:No, it wasn't vague. It contained G1 pre-Earth seekers in their "triangular" jet forms as well as Decepticon drones from "War Dawn".
This supports the parallel dimension to G1 theory that a few people already mentioned. Perhaps, the focal point of both the G1 universe and this universe is when Megatron first appears and Orion Pax is rebuilt as Optimus, but in the Animated universe Ultra Magnus drives Megatron and the Cons away from getting rid of the Allspark making it so that this Prime didn't face Megs like it happened in G1.
Jaz-Zen wrote:Yeah, you're right. I missed that the first time I watched it. However, I'm wondering if, perhaps, Optimus and Sentinel are related, like brothers. And, perhaps, "Prime" is their last name, not their rank? Just an idea.

Overall, not impressed and doubt I will be at all with this series/line.
