There's no real proof of that.

Honestly, I really have to point this out: The only thing it can possibly be is an Alternate reality G1, as far too much doesn't line up with it being a "sequel" to G1 proper.
The G1 footage as history reels really was just there as a nod to hardcore fanbois, not as a 100% storyline accurate piece of history.
It also saves them money.
Ratchet: "Why do you waste your time with those old history vids?" (meaning that it's content actually took place)
Prime: "All the great Autobot leaders learn from the past!"
Ratchet: "Look around you Prime, the great war's ended, centuries ago."
Prime: "But you were there Ratchet, you saw some action! What were the Decepticons really like?" (confirming he was in the original great war, mentioned in the history videos)
Ratchet: "Trust me kid, you're better off not knowing." (confirming Prime's statement)

"Look what ONE Decepticon does to Detroit.....Imagine what will happen when there are THREE or FOUR...or even TEN of em!"
stock footage of Hiroshima comes to mind!
They did say the Cons would be a "real threat" this time.
Lets hope it plys through as such.

Sabrblade wrote:Burn wrote:The attempt to tie it into G1 with the reference to the "Great War" and snippets of the G1 cartoon was nothing but a giant fanwank to get a bunch of G1 fanboys excited. There is simply no way this could tie into G1 at all. There were just way too many plot holes throughout the premiere to connect Animated to G1.
YES! Finally someone gets what I'm saying, though more negatively put. I loved what I saw, unlike Burn.
No offense to anyone.

Funny thing that he couldn't remember the hole he had in his chest what Megatron blasted there...
But, speaking of Megatron... Galvatron.
That the Animated would be some kind of G1 continuity bleeds from more wounds than unifying the Unicron trilogy.
Grimlock, Slag and Swoop will only be created in episode 6.
This could be a parallel Universe, where the autobots could sewer the decepticon uprise earlier, so the energon shortage is a much smaller problem.

Kryptoniteking wrote:Why do you think the TF toy sales went down (and eventually away) for awhile in the 90s?
Robinson wrote:As far as I know there has been a tf lineup released every years since 1984 in one form or another. They never went away, just dropped off of some peoples radar.
Kryptoniteking wrote:Anyway, to get back on track, I expected more than what I was presented with this new animated series and line-up of toys. I've never been a fan of "super deforming" as what was done here. More like "EXTREME Super deformed".

The first thing I thought when watching this is that these writers actually get it. Unlike the Unicron Trilogy this cartoon can appeal to what made transformers my favorite show when I was a kid.
Even though also I was suprised to see the G1 clips at the beginning I did not think they were trying to tell us that this is in anyway connected to the G1 universe. Not at all. From what I read about it I got the idea that they were basically telling us in this very small part of the show that they are taking the transformers back to their roots, and also to tell us that these are actual transformer fans that grew up during the original show, and want to make this one the best that it can be. Personally I think they did a adequit job with the premeire. I want to see what else they have in store for us in the later episodes.

But they will keep watching it just so they can bitch about it.

I learned that the hard way back when I had to write a report for school and one of the optional topics was "The most Stupidest TV Show". I chose The Teletubbies and had to do some research to find stuff I could bash about it. Did'ya know that the actors in those 10-foot-tall costumes have to remove the heads every ten minutes due to Carbon Dioxide build up?
Sabrblade wrote:These were very lanky designs, though some like Bulkhead, Megs, and Lugnut were bulky but not SD'ed.

And, ain't that the sad depressing truth.
Jeysie wrote:I'm a bit... bemused by people who seem to be knocking the show *solely* on the animation style. I don't like it much either, but I consider characterization/dialogue, story/plot, and voice acting much more important, and there I have very little complaint.
