sandmunky wrote:the autobots don't really have that kind of badassery edge to them that I got from the characters in g1 and beast wars. It doesn't help that they are all total wimps either. Seriously, starscream by HIMSELF was able to completely clean their clocks. Hell Optimus DIED fighting him and had to get revived using Sari's key.
I'm sorry, but it really doesn't make for entertaining battle scenes or action. I know the writers said the decepticons were going to be more of a military like threat where the autobots would be working as a team to contend with just one, but what about when the Decepticons will be working as a team? If Starscream was bad enough, Megatron will just wipe the floor with them. So unless they start to obviously get better, any victory against the whole team of them is just screaming deus ex machina to me, because from what I've seen they are all going to get slagged.
to quote ign writer Travis Ficcket:
"This Optimus Prime cannot go toe-to-toe with Megatron. He can't even go toe-to-toe with Starscream, which leads to a sequence where Prime grabs the all-spark and then runs away from Starscream. This totally works in the context of this story and these characters…except this character is named Optimus Prime. Imagine Superman showing up to intimidate Lex Luthor, only to have Luthor give Supes a big wedgie then holds him down and beats him with his own hands while yelling "Why you hitting yourself? Why you hitting yourself?" It's kind of like that."

Its 3 episodes if you count the 1 1/2 hour as one episode.

Actually its five. Transform and Roll Out Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Home is where the Spark is, and Blast From the Past. Had Total Meltdown aired we would be getting six instead of five. But according to Omega Charge:Omega Charge wrote:are we still going to see the episode "Meltdown"? Here it lists it as episode 8.

it will be aired as episode eight, which I hope is true and not just some rumor.

I'm probably going to be lynched for saying this, but do they HAVE to give Starscream the voice quality of nails on a chalkboard? It was good for G1, but these days, they could give him a much smoother voice quality - like a greasy politician (I'd say used carsalesman, but I think too many people would think Bernie Mac from the movie).
