Watched the preview yesterday. I'm starting to think that was a bad idea. Not only did it only leave me wanting more, but the episode proper is going to feel too short since I've already seen half of it already.

That said, I'm really impressed with Orion/Optimus' "new" voice. Obviously it's still Peter Cullen, but there's an entirely new tone to his voice that sounds completely different from Optimus. It's really good.

I know, right? That vocal performance is exactly how I envisioned the voice of Orion/Optimus from the Exodus and Exiles novels. So much more emotion than how he was speaking for the first 26 episodes. I am really looking forward to seeing more of Orion and PRAY that his memories fail to be restored after this three-part episode.

Let's talk about what just happened:

-Arcee manages to get on board the Nemesis, for all of five minutes. Who knew Soundwave was a mobile Ground Bridge?

-Jack comes up with the plan I had been expecting: Let the 'cons finish their Space Bridge, then hijack it to get to Cybertron and Vector Sigma.

-Starscream finally returns, just to steal some Energon from the Nemesis...and then confront Optimus. Seems like he's going to foul up the whole thing.

Wouldn't it be a awesome if Orion pax (Not Optimus) were to desert the cons and rejoin the autobots without his prior memory's as Optimus. Even if the Gang tried to explain who he was Orion would never be that Optimus again :) I am likeing this idea.

I jumped out of my seat and screamed for 'screamer! Having not seen him in maybe 6 episodes, I was happy to see his return.

I also wished that they'd show some new Decepticons or Autobots in the episode. Hopefully some in those fleets scattered across the globe. But there's always Part 2.

Anyone notice Breakdown, since Metal Attraction, has had little to no lines? I found that true once more in this episode.

There's something about Orion's eyes and mouth that seems different, compared to Optimus'. Maybe it's because he's lost on the situation. And, as Shadowman stated, Peter Cullen's voice for him has more emotion.

Season 2 is going to kick serious ass.

Okay this episode was pretty good abit shot but good.
Only actual in-show flaw I've seen was that Orion doesn't even question why his alt mode isn't his original cybertronian body.
Certain bits seem good like what Shadowman said. My personal problem with this episode boils down to two thing. 1. My god is everyone angry in this episode I mean I kinda understand their worried about Optimus but the Bots seem to be a complete wreck without him. Who exactly is the second in command on this team anyway? and 2. I don't who's a bigger idiot. Megatron for not warning all his troops to shoot & kill Starscream on sight or Starscream for not thinking his plan through while on the Nemesis. But still it's a multi-parter so I'll see whats in store next week

Just watched episode 27.

So called Jack being an "honorary Prime".

Loved the use of the terms "War for Cybertron" and "Exodus", being emphasized as references to the two documentations of the show's ancient past points in time.

Pointless Sierra scene was pointless. I wish Jack had referred to Arcee/Sadie as his aunt instead of his mother. It'd make that scene less awkward than it was.

I don't like them calling Orion Pax an archivist. That was Alpha Trion's position. Orion Pax was just a data clerk.

Arcee once again proves in this episode that she is the most awesome Autobot member of Team Prime. 8)

Would ya look at that. I knew Jack had potential. Of everyone at the base, he's the one keeping a calm, cool, and tactical head on his shoulders, as he comes up with an exceptional strategy whilst everyone else bickers and yells at each other. Optimus chose wisely.

How exactly did Starscream sneak aboard the Nemesis undetected when Soundwave supposedly sees all, hears all, and knows all, being on constant surveillance at all times? :???:

And once again, Starscream proves to be the monkey wrench in Megatron's plans.

This story arc is off to a good start. Could be a little better, but still decently executed.

Shadowman wrote:-Arcee manages to get on board the Nemesis, for all of five minutes. Who knew Soundwave was a mobile Ground Bridge?
At least he's doing something. ;)

Shadowman wrote:-Jack comes up with the plan I had been expecting: Let the 'cons finish their Space Bridge, then hijack it to get to Cybertron and Vector Sigma.
Like I said, Optimus chose well.

Shadowman wrote:-Starscream finally returns, just to steal some Energon from the Nemesis...and then confront Optimus. Seems like he's going to foul up the whole thing.
That's our Screamer. :P

I'd think Megatron would have already briefed him on any new body changes off screen. Such a detail is pretty minor compared to Orion's more personal matters.

DJ1107 wrote:1. My god is everyone angry in this episode I mean I kinda understand their worried about Optimus but the Bots seem to be a complete wreck without him. Who exactly is the second in command on this team anyway?
I think Ratchet's kind of the de facto leader right now, with Arcee and Bulkhead both kinda playing the role of field commander (but not in complete cooperation with each other)

DJ1107 wrote:and 2. I don't who's a bigger idiot. Megatron for not warning all his troops to shoot & kill Starscream on sight or Starscream for not thinking his plan through while on the Nemesis. But still it's a multi-parter so I'll see whats in store next week
Megatron want's Starscream alive for personal reasons. He wants Screamer to suffer at his hands. Killing Starscream instantly would let the Seeker get off too easily for his actions, and it would rob Megatron the satisfaction of dealing with Starscream himself.

As for Starscream, he's not a good long-term planner. This seems to be more of a simple "making it up as he goes along" kind of plan. Plus, he never, in his wildest dreams, ever expected to run into Optimus aboard the Nemesis during a time of calmness and with free reign of the ship. He's acting mostly on instinct right now.

That was before he changed his mind and before Starscream abandoned the Cons. Now Megatron wants to personally take care of Starscream his own way.

Besides, you said he should have told his troops to shoot Starscream on sight. Megatron wants Starscream himself. If anyone other than Megatron were to kill Starscream, Megs would not get the chance to dispose Starscream himself. He wants that pleasure, and will not allow anyone to rob him of it.

There might be a reason for that scene in the next two episodes of Orion Pax. For now, it's just a time filler.

Yeah, but if they keep coming back to this character, I get the feeling that Sierra may become more than a recurring side character and become another human ally. It kinda feels like they're really pushing to make her jack's love interest (despite her being a bit of jerk at first), when several of us figured that that role might go to Miko somewhere down the line. I mean, we've already got five human allies who make regular/semi-regular appearances. Do we really need a sixth? :-|

Not a bad episode! I hope something substantial comes out of Optimus' work on the Iacon records.

Soundwave is badass, man. He's just so tough, dark, and sinister!

Ya know, it always makes me shake my head and roll my eyes when the supposedly super-intelligent, high-tech robots are absolutely clueless and the kids come up with "brilliant" plans, lol. Armada was like that too. I'm referring to that scene where all the Autobots are freaking out and Jack comes up with the space bridge plan.

Not really a complaint, just something I've noticed. I guess they do it to make the kids watching feel like they too could be involved like that. I dunno...

Even when Jack came up with the plan, the Autobots still didn't think it was a good idea. They're even quick to come up with the big flaw in the plan; the Space Bridge is crawling with Decepticons, and trying to steal it is suicide. It's not a particularly brilliant plan, it's just the most obvious one, and also the most dangerous.
