That's what the existing comics have done and what the upcoming Prime Beast Hunters comic will do.

Which is hard for me to say, as I've never absolutely hated a character like I hate Magnus. His "by-the-book" prickliness is part of his charm some could say, but it aggravates me. Someone better shove a pipe up his tailplate by series' end. I was first excited for his introduction, but he pretty much blew this whole experience for me.
I find this interesting, as the idea of someone being legitimately "by-the-book" in this show is quite shocking for me, as, up until this point, the amount of rule-following and rule-breaking by every member of Team Prime (human and Autobot alike) has been just all over the map. I find that Magnus serves a nice contrast to all that we've gotten up this point, with him being the genuine article compared to the likes of Optimus and Ratchet whom have claimed to be straight arrows yet have often found ways to get around standard protocol and continue to still think of themselves as having followed the book. I at least hope for Magnus to Ratchet a reality check that, news flash, he's not all that he claims to be, that Magnus is the what being by-the-book
really is, and that he'll get some sense knocked into him and ease him up from being such a jerk.
In turn, Magnus would also eventually learn to soften up himself as well, likely having his heart warmed by the series' end.
PrymeStriker wrote:2) I guess this is a consequence of watching the first three episodes in direct order, but the whole thing felt rushed. Suddenly Smokescreen ended up back at the base so conveniently, Ratchet instantaneously returned to help his friends after they abandoned him at the dump, Shockwave's (convenient) survival (I would've been happier with the Shockwave we saw in the promo being one of his many clones on Cybertron that we learned of in the Beast Hunters comic, making the toy an army-builder), not to mention Ultra Magnus' introduction was pale to say the least. Maybe it's just me.
I'll agree on Magnus's debut being kinda eh, but we got a good reason for Smoke's quick return. He turned around almost immediately and appeared just as the base blew. It would only make sense for him to appear that quickly to make what he said sound truthful.
Ratchet's return was necessary for the plot's development, and really, he's not the first person to have a "ten second retirement", and won't be the last. I was glad to see his return happen as soon as it did, as he's been a grumpy jerk all series and really has a dire need for some redeeming factors and character growth, as he's been the same as he's always been since episode 1.
For Shockwave, I don't see what so convenient about getting blasted back out through the space bridge. Otherwise, he'd be dead.
PrymeStriker wrote:3) The Autobots getting back together wasn't as quick as I had bargained, but still a little too quick. This complaint's a lot less major than the others, though.
I wouldn't quite call them all being back together just yet, what with them still missing Smokescreen and the injured Optimus.

1) Predaking isn't a weak-ass. What I mean is, he isn't easily taken down. A whole damn energon mine fell on him and shook it off like it was a pinch. I was expecting him to be shot down by a few blasts from Bulkhead, but Predaking proves even a bigger threat in battle than any Decepticon, Autobot, or Predacon we've ever or ever will get so far. I'm impressed.
Yeah, looks like the only thing that can bring him down is a nice big bonk on the head.
PrymeStriker wrote:2) Optimus didn't take the Orion Pax dive this season. Remember how Optimus was restored in the first three episodes last season? At least this time it wasn't the first three episodes. What makes it even better is that since this season is half the number of episodes, he wasn't restored in 1.5 episodes instead. By comparison, Optimus has stayed damaged a much longer amount of time than Optimus had been Orion. Now, this isn't saying much considering Smokescreen could patch Optimus right up by the fourth episode, but if they keep him like this for at least more than half the season, I'll be satisfied.
I honestly do hope he gets healed, since I wanna see that awesome BH toy in animated form (but NOT as an upgraded Smokescreen, as Smoke being overhauled into a n Optimus clone just sounds too silly

).
PrymeStriker wrote:3) Bumblebee's new paintjob = badass. And it has a decent explanation, something I was fearing the writers would prove lackluster to do until a few episodes onward, if at all. A side note: I don't mind Raf's deep(er) voice. I hope he gets a bit taller by the end of the season, just to match up. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
I guess puberty kicked in off screen for the character while he and Bee were on the run.

What's more funny is that her WFC body being pink means that she did wear that color at one time and now doesn't like it anymore. Eat that Geewunners.
