After being away from transformers, third party or otherwise, my thought's finally decided to drift back to that third party IDW styled Optimus figure I recall hearing about... uh, back whenever it was.

I'm glad I lost interest now, cuz this is everything I was hoping it wouldn't be, completely stocky in every way imaginable. Henkei Convoy can be safely assured his place on my shelf.

My gosh, he is beautiful!

This Optimus looks perfect, even more classically G1-esque than I had hoped, All the right colours in the right places, prominant, strong and tall. A Leader!

My small Voyager Classics Optimus will be taken from his current spot in my display and replaced without a doubt.

Heck, the old Voyager Optimus could even be repurposed as Orion Pax with the addition of a different noggin. I recall seeing somewhere that a fan had head swapped the recent Generations Orion Pax head with the Voyager Optimus head and it fitted perfectly. One would assume the same could be done with the Pax head onto Classics/Henkei Op? :-?

Toyworld are coming on in leaps and bounds with their figures and I for one appluad them. Sterling work! :APPLAUSE:

yep totally agree . this is what ive been waiting 5 years for, that robot comparison pic just sold me on this .

I'm with you on that. Other than MP-10, Henkei Convoy is my favorite Optimus Prime figure and this thing doesn't touch it. I hate the bot mode and loathe that goofy, cube looking truck mode which appears to be completely lacking in any real detail. I think this is the first figure Toyworld has come out with that I'm not purchasing.

I'm guessing all this love for it comes from readers of some comics where Optimus appeared this way, is that right? I can't see any other logical explanation as to why people are so excited about such an obviously lacking Prime figure other than it having roots in some fiction they enjoyed. TF:Prime FE Optimus even buries this thing.

I'm always for comic-accurate toys, but this guy's a bit too big and blocky for my taste. Classics/henkei (voyager) Optimus is still my fav too.

Nice review there. It's certainly confirmed my desire to replace Henkei Prime with this one after almost 8 years of having him on my shelf.

Im no fan of the Michael Bay split window look (where IDW got it from) but my real issue is he is just too damn big in robot mode. I gave Hegemon a free pass for being an inch too tall because he was pure G1 cartoon. But unfortunately, Orion isn't.

The aesthetics just aren't to my liking. Not at all. :-(
