First off, it humanizes them for the kids. I know, I know...."we didn't need them back in the day". But you have to remember, the kids of today have not had the social interactions we did when G1 came out. Studies have proven that today younger generation does not have the capacity to read body language, voice inflection (thank you, inventor of the text message...), and expression at the level of Gen X and prior because they simply haven't had the exposures. This is worse for those who were essentially in their formative years during Covid and are now struggling to catch up with their learning. The younger generation's interactions have all been digital. Facebook, Instagram, etc. This is why Millenials and younger generations are having such an issue in the workplace relating to older people. They don't understand body language and associated nuances because they've spent the majority of their lives with their faces in their phones or so focused on themselves (thank you, inventor of the "selfie"...) that interaction has not been a priority.

Putting faces on bots allows the toons to subliminally teach expressions, interactions, and body language to the younger generation- something that Gen X and the previous generations learned by actually going outside and interacting face to face. That may not have been the intent, but it's logical based on the most recent psychological research.

It may not be that complicated, but that's my guess.

That's all well and good. Although I am sceptical that Nickelodeon/Hasbro look all that deeply into psychology studies. But then surely it seems at odds with the fact that this "rule" doesn't apply to everyone with a faceplate. Grimlock, Wheeljack, most Soundwaves etc

Pretty grim reading for this generation of kids to be considered that deficit to their predecessors.

Cannot get enough of these designs. I love them. I agree the faces are a bit off, but overall they are a lot of fun. So happy to have creativity in this

Hasbro surely looks into psychological studies for kids when it comes to toy development.

Hence why, beginning with Robots in Disguise 2015, they switched from making primarily "normal"/"traditional" Transformers toys with full articulation and size classes, to primarily simplistic and gimmicky Transformers toys in the TV series toylines.

It's very interesting to see how psychology has been used in the past. Going back and looking at the credits of shows like Silverhawks, Thundercats, and TF among others, there are psychological consultants for all of them. This may be one of those hidden things that we don't know goes on in the background a lot.

To be fair, they were simply giving children of today toys with the same complexity that were given to kids on the 80s.

He reformed after the war in IDW1, gave up being evil at the end of the epilogue of Prime, and agreed to a peaceful ceasefire in Cyberverse season 3.

Talking about spoilers the synospis of each episodes has leaked.I will only ask some futuristic questions:

Is Mo the writer's incarnation?Be vigilant if she doesn't act like a true child,100% of the time at least.

Is PerfectVision highly perspicace or it is higly prédictable?"you see the ennemies coming, every strangers are even if they try to hide it".

Interesting. not sure how I feel about the overly silly stuff but I'll be kids will love it, and THAT is what matters. Get the kids hooked on Transformers and the rest will fall in to place for our favorite hobby.

It looks like, despite Megatron having seemingly reformed, he still has no qualms with beating up his old Decepticon comrades, and even relishes the chance to be so violent with them.

Auto-Megs was a terribly conceived and implemented concept in IDW. I'm not entirely convinced it will work onscreen either. Not looking forward to that.

If they can play out the inner conflict of being a Decepticon for millions of years and finally making the decision to stop conquering well, I'll be happy. This could ALMOST be a sequel to Prime where Megatron changed and left the 'Cons after Unicron subjugated him...

Prime did it well. I'm dreading that they will draw from the IDW version. Which cut corners to push the story forward. That was completely at odds with all prior in-universe characterisation.

Yes!He's charitable now!
I thought about him as a contrarian like Sentinel but there's a worse possibility:to be inconsequent, swappable with a strong autobot,a bit of particular backstory but that's all.

Édit:he sounds very heroic for a anti charitable leader, the explanation would be that he has never been that crual not as much as some previous incarnations, wrong references, maybe Starscream is more disgusting for exemple.

To me, it kinda feels like how it was when he teamed up with Optimus and Windblade back in the Combiner Wars cartoon.

He's affiliated to the humans, as are some autobots.

He remains a Decepticon and is not an Autobot

New Earthspark Trailer Showcases Megatron and Features Nolan North's Swindle and Hardtop

Postby william-james88 » Wed Oct 12, 2022 7:07 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
We thank Sabrblade for letting us know of a new trailer for the upcoming Earthspark show. This show will be on Paramount Plus first, and then on Nickelodeon (both owned by the same company). This trailer gives us a lot more Megatron. There seems to be some confusion regarding this character switching sides, but he still retains his Decepticon symbol, is himself a Decepticon, and still sounds very much like Megatron. The "change" here though is that after his war against the Autobots, he allies himself with humans to take down the new enemy Mandroid. The trailer also shows us Swindle and Hardtop and we get to hear Nolan North, who voices them.
