I like it. It's alot more Breakdown than the club figure. But other than removing the stupid racing decal from the window, I dont know how Takara plans to make this guy any more G1 than the Hasbro version. Maybe thats why their doing gift sets. Wildrider and Slingshot are the selling points for people who cant wait for the Hasbro version (like me )

I'm quite a bit younger than you guys(22), and I completely missed out on G1 with the transformers movie being my first and only g1 experience. I kinda feel like lucky that I missed it though, because now I can get the modern stuff without any nostalgia factor blocking me from enjoying anything. I understand that you guys like what you grew up with, but IDW is what I grew up with. These combiner wars sets will be my first combiners, besides FOC bruticus, and I for one really don't care if there is a helicopter in an aerial team or a pickup in a stunt team. I'm just glad these are being made and that I can afford to pick a few of them up.

Awesome. Love and embrace what parts of the fandom speaks to you Leoking. Just because we are all fans of Transformers, we are all coming at these materials from different places and times, and that only makes us all stronger by being able to share these different points of view.

Silly gimmick aside, I haven't heard anyone hating on the Pretenders based on "who" they were as characters over "what" they were as toys.

I definitely have a little love available for Alpha Bravo. The pictures I am seeing of him really seem like he is a great figure. But there is also a reality to that Superion isn't complete without him being all jets... I do have the ROFT Superion with and upgrade kit... So it doesn't bother me to bad that CW Superion isn't all jets... It makes him slightly different...

Problem I am having though is that Bruticus and Protectobots/Defensor should really be the only two that have the helicopter.. Everyone else is just wannabe's... (That may be my bias to Bruticus though...)

Sabrblade I think there's something else you can add to the reasons it's heresy, it's not who he is but what he is...which I find as silly as the who he is argument.

I'd personally have liked the repaints of Silverbolt\Menasor to be more imaginative like having Axelerators with Hotspot remolded into Pyro for the Autobots and Skyscorchers with Silverbolt as Skyquake. Even Thunderclash and Turbomasters might be fun - just characters we've not seen in mainline toyranges for years.

Hey Amelie, since you like pretty pictures, here's one for you. It's Beast Hunters Optimus in a G1 Thunderclash homage (check out his insignia) that came out as a target exclusive 1-2 years ago.

Alpha Bravo looks cool. AB is an aerial bot because he's a robot and he can fly. AB is an 'Aerialbot' because he's officially on the team now. AB doesn't fit with the team, in my mind, because the whole point of Superion seemed, tome, to be the ability to get a big, hard Autobot to a situation quickly; not to hang around soaking up bullets waiting for his other arm to arrive. I like Alpha Bravo, he exists and is cool. He hampers the team in my view, but, big FD, right? Slingshot is something to look forward to. Helicopter TF's are always welcome in my world.

Blueberry Cheesecake is a delicious way to describe Alpha Bravo.

Anyways, I keep writing it but people comment otherwise or ask why Hasbro do these changes. The head of the Transformers Brand at Hasbro told us why:

What I want to keep pushing the brand is that Generations isn't just about looking in the past. It's also about creating new stories, new characters as we go forward. I tell this story to the design and marketing team, when we were kids, when I first came out and was playing with this brand, somebody was in our seat, in our job and they were creating new stories and new toys for us. That's our job, you know? And that's what makes this fun. There's a 5, 6, 7...10 year old kid out there, whatever age they are who's getting into this and they're experiencing Transformers for the first time. So it's our responsibility and what we get to give back now is that we are creating the next generation of fans with this new product line whether it's Generations product line, whether it's Robots in Disguise whether it's Rescue Bots. We're creating this new fun way to play.

Most of these people on this thread saying alpha bravo is ok with the Aerialbots and literally being completely argumentative as if YOU have an alpha bravo limb to stand on can just please sit down and have a seat. You guys are millennials, born in the late 80's or 90's and to an extent (especially the 90's millennials) can't even remember G1, so if you are one of them, then you pretty much follow the IDW series and that's fine and all, but do know that before IDW took over, DREAMWAVE was the BEST iteration of the G1 transformers franchise before IDW came along with these wack replacements of characters. But also know this, as much as these millennials can sit here and dispute things they can't even remember, do know that the reason you are even posting your love for transformers is BECAUSE of G1 and in case you are wondering, this G1 fan was born in 1977. It's not much you can tell me (let alone dispute with me) anything concerning transformers. G1 ALL DAY... till all are one

Why not make it a more general thread, like Replacement Combiner Limbs - So Scandalous They Need Their Own Thread, just so we can include Offroad and Rook? Why should Alpha Bravo be singled out?
