One thing I like about having the extra limbs... it's possible to swap them into a gestalt and have a nice color match ... and big bulky legs, thinner arms. It does open up some options to have a better looking combiner bot, which I like.

Plus, it's not like we're talking about a $110 3rd Party limb... at $15 a pop, I'm going to go ahead and get the extra character. >:oP

IKR? Crazy!

It's my understanding Hasbro/ Takara make toys, sell said toys to stores, who then hang them somewhere for me to choose from. Aside from the postman with a package from Kapow!, to this day, nobody has ever knocked on my door and insisted I take a Transformer toy. Neither have they taken any of my old ones away.

Marketing can be a nasty beast sometimes, but so can the mentality of consumers. The good thing is, each of us still has our free will.

Lol, I was one of those who initially whined about MP-10 but I totally agree. It's your own choice what you buy. More options are usually a good thing.

Will definitely be getting Quickslinger if he doesn't prove too difficult to obtain. And I'm still happy I got Alpha Bravo!

When it comes down to it, I bought Alpha Bravo. I like him, and have no plans for getting any of the others, and once I get my office together he'll be posed beside my upgraded Fansproject Superion.

If possible I plans to get all the Stunticons including both Offroad and Wildrider. Who makes in on the gestalt and who faces off with AB, is a decision for once I have them.

Aside from getting the last wave autobots I'll pretty much get anything Combiner Wars related because it has a really good gimmick. More combiner limbs means more gestalt options to make. The only reason I'm not bothering with the autobot sunticon redecos and voyager cyclonus is because I'm not made of money. :I

They look great. As soon as I get preorders locked in my Takara preorder is so cancelled. Minor wing paint apps are not worth double dipping. I like white hands and feet, but Im going all in on perfect effect and have no intention of using the goofy oversized hands and undersized feet.

Oh btw im laughing my ass off at the above conversation!

I said it first, alpha bravo is a fake, a phoney, and a fraud ! He will be locked up in a padded cell for impersonating an aerialbot. :o)

Ha, I'm kind of the opposite. I'm looking forward to the Autobot Stunticon repaints in part because I'm not getting the Stunticons themselves, yet I'd like to have some version of the molds. (I have Optimus Prime, and look forward to getting limbs for him.)

I will admit, though, if I did have plans to get the Stunticons, I'd be less excited about their Autobot repaints. But since I am happy with this guy:

Well, technically he is an Aerialbot. He's just not a member of the team that makes up Superion, nor should he be. And I challenge you on being the 1st to call AB a poser. I've been griping about him since he 1st reared his ugly carcass. Image Image

I like this! :KREMZEEK:

Like MP-10, Sling...err, Quickslinger and Break kneck are not intended to replace anything. People haven't wasted money buying Alpha and Off Road only to have the 'real thing' held back to trick them. Not to be rude, but if that's the ONLY reason people bought them...maybe try some restraint? I know CW is built around 'gotta catch em all' but if you truly believe Superion and Menasor are incomplete without the full G1 team...then wait?
I don't think many of us believed these 2 were not coming, not with all the discussion going on. Once TT proved the tooling for Sling existed, it wasn't rocket science.
Dragstrip was sneakily placed in wave 1. If I had no intention of building Menasor, I would not have bought him, knowing Air Raid was coming in wave 2.
This 'marketing ploy' may work on Children or unknowing parents; If little 6 year old Johnny wants to shake his fist at the heavens because Hasbro made him buy a Decepticon because they didn't tell him that final Autobot was coming in spring, or he bought a helicopter not knowing they were holding out on the 4th plane, well fair enough. Parents feel free to send angry letters to Hasbro. However....what I see banging around here is more than a little...questionable... :-?

As far as Superion and Menasor are concerned all members-original, new, and reserve, will now ultimately be available. I can understand the frustration before yesterday...but now? We all win, no?
(dodgy distribution decision aside...)

The idea is there, but at this point I think it's more of a tongue-in-cheek reference than anything else. Here are the bots in the episode, plus who they disguised themselves as:

Optimus Prime: Motormaster (both are semis)
Mirage: Drag Strip (Racing cars)
Sideswipe: Breakdown (Lamborghinis)
Jazz: Dead End (Porsches)
Windcharger: Wildrider (shoe-horned in for his magnetic powers for the "combined mode")

You surprise me X, you once stated you couldnt get why anyone would want a toy accurate release rather than a show accurate one. Are you taking back what you said?

I dont know why you'd need to double dip, just stick with Takara, that's what I am doing. And its not just the wing paint apps, its Superion's chest. There is a huge difference between the two that really brings out the show accuracy fo the takara version.

Here, let me explain:

The character model has Silverbolt's chest transform into Superion's chest and they are very different color wise. Silverbolt's chest in the G1 cartoon is red but seperated by white while Superion is red all across (except for a small patch).

Due to the engineering of back then, the G1 toy could not do that so the chest was a full red for both Superion and Silverbolt since it didnt really transform.

However, the new updated Combiner Wars toys have the engineering so that whatever chest Silverbolt has, Superion doesnt necessarily have to share it. And indeed, the transformation into a torso is quite involved and the same chest peices are not reused. And yet, Hasbro's lazy paint job doesnt showcase that at all since you still end up with a full red chest for both Silverbolt and Superion.

However, Takara does make the most of this great tnrasformation by showcasing how the torso has morphed and is far from just being Silverbolt's chest. And for once, the color change on the chest is very visible. This may look small, but it is a big deal for me since it highlights the evolution in engineering of these wonderful toys.

Not only is the set expensive AT Botcon, but you don't even want to venture near eBay. But hey, all well and good for those who spent their rent on the set right? Wrong. 2015 Shajaki tells me that Takara releases their own (better!) versions of the missing seekers as exclusives, only to be put on regular store shelves by Hasbro for retail price. I'd like to make an observation. I'll start with a disclaimer. I mean no ill will or malicious intent, as I have know desire to start some scrap. Just a general question to all and any fans.

In my time here I have noticed that, we the fans, are constantly looking at new toys for their homage to the past. The nature of the CHUG toy lines IS all about that, of course, but this "Masquerade" question in relation to the Autobot team keeps coming up. It's a good example of what I'm talking about. Why can't the Autobot team just be a new thing? Why is there such resistance to evolution and new ideas in this thing we all love so much?

For me the Autobot team is an homage to my imagination when I was 10. But then, Hasbro didn't ask me what I was dreaming about when I was 10. They just saw a new way to introduce a neat idea to expand the play options of this toy line.

Ha, that was great. But to be honest though, the difference between buying Takara's Superion on amiami and Hasbro's superion on BBTS is quite minimal. The situation is far from being as bad this time around. Every option is available and affordable.

Watch the Botcon 2016 box set be the G2 Stunticons, the Aerialbots be add-on buys with G2 Alpha Bravo (i'm thinking brown with yellow accents) and G2 Offroad (definitely pink with lime green) being subscription figures that year.

If memory serves, three of the limbs match those who took part in Masquerade. But one of the upcoming toys is Ironhide, where as in the cartoon it was Windcharger.

Of course... the big problem with calling this a homage to Masquerade really came to light when I watched the episode the other day. In Masquerade, it was the Autobots disguising themselves as the Stunticons, not the other way around. So, you know what the Masquerade Autobots should look like? This:

So yeah... I don't get it as a homage. But still, I look forward to owning them. Image

Turns out these were the first sighting of the wave in all of north america. Also, its cool to know Canada is still getting the cards with the toys. For once we have something extra the states isnt getting.

Of the two "standard" Stunticon cars, Dead End is the better mould (imo) so I'm totally OK with this.

We cried and cried for our remaining three seekers which someone must have heard, cause we finally got them! In the form of a Botcon Exclusive gift set.....

YOU THINK YOU KNOW PAIN?

At which point 2007 Shajaki had to be sedated. So if you have to pay retail, or even a mark-up to complete the G1'ish Superion you so covet, be glad it isn't worse.

And those 3 missing seekers aren't even the best part of that Both on set. The retooled Jet fire as Dreading (or wad it the other brother?) Is way cooler. But then again, I am heavily based towards that toy. I still need the black and purple japanese release...
