A few people seriously overracted & said "How stupid... Not ever gonna happen so stop talking about it......".
And looked what happen... & it really did seem unlikely to get Hasbro seekers after that 'ol Botcon.

Well in both cases (beast combiners and seekers) it is a massive money-making opportunity, so it's only logical that has/tak would cash in on it; and open speculation is okay, so long as it's relative to what hasbro has stated. If it's true that there are no beast-combiners on the horizon, people shouldn't be saying that abominus is going to close out '16, they should at least endeavor to read everything of pertinence and speculate accordingly.

I would flip for beast combiners, but it isn't happening for at least a year (2017 at the earliest if it's a 2 year pipeline) so, must temper my expectations accordingly, plus if people don't read all the posts and didn't read the bullet pointed info, than seeing all this talk of abominus would make them think that it was announced, and roll with it from there as though it were gospel truth, or something.

Just because Hasbro have said no beast combiners, doesn't mean they were referring to the likes of Predaking, Monstrucator and Abominus.

They could have meant no Beast combiners, as in Beast Wars ... I'm just gonna stick my head in the sand over that.

Then again, I look at Scattorshot and all I can see is Hasbro are now officially over combiners. I'm guessing he was the last one designed after a week of 12+ hours designing and they were just over it.

Considering they heavily retooled Cyclonus from Silverbolt, Scattorshot just looks lazy.

You know, the more I look at G1 Computron, the more I think a proper Combiner Wars Technobot team can be easily done with only some minor retooling of existing molds and remolds (plus, new heads, of course).

Afterburner - from Unite Warriors Groove (everyone is expecting this anyway)
Lightspeed - from Combiner Wars Dead End (or equivalent)
Nosecone - from Combiner Wars Rook (plug a drill into that 5mm port on the front of the vehicle) OR from Combiner Wars Brawl (again, with a retool to accommodate a drill)
Strafe - from Combiner Wars Sky Dive (retool the shoulders to accommodate 5mm holes on the top to plug in twin orange blasters)

The only real hurdle for Hasbro with using this plan would be Unite Warriors Groove, but they could find another solution, and if Hasbro can't get the job done, Takara Tomy can.

I'm honestly expecting TT to do it at this point. Also expecting them to make a few combiners exclusive to their markets, basically gestalts like Raiden and Liokaiser or even Dinoking in the far off future.

Interestingly, as I was writing this post I realised that almost all of the Japan G1 exclusive teams were six members...

You know, I look at the pic of G1 Computron, then I look at CW Betatron and I really can't understand why Hasbro would go to the effort of retooling Silverbolts nosecone and wings but don't bother retooling the torso chest and head.

This HAS to be an early design surely.

Glad to see/hear that Scattorshot has been confirmed, shame that there aren't any other technobots (at least as of yet!)

Out of these new 4 limbs, I may pick up hound to use as a G1 Bulkhead, otherwise I'm not really interested with them. To ME they serve no purpose.

The first, cause it really is a maybe, and chances are more sided that I won't pick him up at all, but thats not to rule out that I wont.

The second was highlight that it is solely my opinion that these 4 deluxes are a waste space, so that no one can take umbridge that I'm "stating facts" or that I have a differing opinion to those that do want them.
Out of that wave, I'm only interested in Skylynx and Wreakgar.

There is evidence to support him being an early design, at least decco-wise.

The official image of scattershot (CG render) shows him with metallic maroon paint apps that show up on places the production sample doesn't have it. Note the chest panels on the side of the legs, Colour of the Shins and the shoulder wings.

They seem to have deliberately not released an official render of his combined mode too.

Whether that's because they're still retooling the head, or they're waiting til they can show off the technobots, guess away.

What the hell is wrong with repaints in the first place?


That's what the Seekers are and thats just the first of many characters that are just repaints




Tailgate and Swerve were originally repaints yet everybody loves them and crap.





I could see the problem if they were lazy repaints of the same character and being the same guy such as all the movie Bumblebee repaints




but guess what?




These are not lazy and some of them are quite clever and make some damn sense.

First, unwad your panties from the bunch there skippy.

Second, I have a problem when they use repaints to make characters that have always been unique. Seekers and Datsun brothers don't bother me because that is how they've always been. Ironhide, Off-road, and Firstaid being the same is plain lazy.

This is the original Victorion. He is made of redecos of previously released molds. People voted for her regarding a few of her aspects and Hasbro used those to make this. There is no other Victorion. This is the first and only. I am very confused.

Might I suggest using the official color stripes assigned by Hasbro? These stripes are on the top of the boxes and in the "Combine to form" sticker.

Fellow Seibertronian MemphisR56 did us all a favor by making a spreadsheet in light of the fact that every new Generations figures announced at SDCC 2015 was a retool or repaint of a pre-existing mold.

The heavy use of retools and redecos has split the fan base and inspired some fun discussion nearing the level of the "Theseus Paradox" (how much retooling until it is a new figure?) and if it is fair to criticize a G2 repaint for what it is (lazy or awesome?).
Whatever your stance is, this spreadsheet should help keep score of what is going on with the first year of Combiner Wars not even over yet.

To be fair, MemphisR56 is just sticking to Hasbro and Funpub releases as part of the Scramble City concept (or else you would even get Scourge using that Truck Cab torso). Here is the spreadsheet which he has titled Repaint Wars Revengeance:
