Not to mention how Metroplex is bigger than Fort Max, who was quite heavy in his days. So, Metroplex can't be that heavy if the higher ups can't make another infant crusher.Mindmaster wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not really. Soundwave may be Leader-sized, but he's exceedingly intricate and and complexly engineered with tons of tiny pieces worked into him.Mindmaster wrote:It's rather odd placing MP Soundwave at a higher price point than Metroplex, since all Soundwave is is a Leader-class-ish figure with diecast and little cassette minions, whereas Metroplex is two feet tall and loaded with electronics.
Metorplex may be a giant with some electronics, but he's mostly hollow with a bunch of folding parts to both make his altmodes work and to adhere to toy safety laws.
True. I had forgotten to take into account for the intricate transformation of Soundwave.

Manterax Prime wrote:I really don't know why Hasbro keeps pushing these "exclusives" and why people keep shelling out an arm and a leg for them.
If Hasbro can do these as "exclusives", what's stopping them from making them a normal release?

Hasbro's very likely gonna want to get the most out of this mold that they can, and redecoing it into Metrotitan would be an excellent AND feasible way to do so. And by releasing it as a retail figure instead of a con exclusive, it would reach a much wider range of consumers: Older fans who know of the Zone character, newer fans who read about the Metrotitans in the IDW comics, and fans who just want a big, nice-looking, colorful toy.
