The events in the proceeding story are based off of the radio broadcast by Orson Welles, which is based of a story by H.G. Wells.


" Ladies and Gentlemen, we have recieved a report of gas explosions occuring in regular intervals on the surface of mars," said an Anchorman," one scientist who obsserved it as ' a flaming ball of blue fire', the gasses were headed on a course for earth. All scientists are asked to keep a watch on mars until further notice. We take you to an interview with noted astronamer: Professor Isaac Peirson."

" Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, i am here with world famous astronomer Professer Isaac Peirson. Professor, do you believe there is any intellegent life on Mars?" asked Mark Jameson.

" No, I believe there is no intellegent life on mars. Maybe once in the past," said the professor.

" I see. And for our listeners, how far is mars from the earth?" asked Mark Jameson.

"about 40 million miles," said Professor Peirson.

" Ladies and Gentlemen, Professor Peirson has just been faxed a very important telegraph. Let me take this time to inform you that we are at the Trenton Observatory with an interview with professor Isaac Peirson," said Mark Jameson," He is handing me the telegraph, may i read it aloud?"

" With all means, yes," said Professor Isaac Peirson.

" Thank you, it reads quote: " Today at 8:15 am we have recorded a siesmic tremor on an old farm outside of Groversmill, New Jersy, we ask that you investigate it." unquote. Do you believe this is in some way related to the explosions on mars?"

" No, the fact that this meteor fell at this exact time does not make it related. I believe it is little more than a coincidence. But, we shall still go out when light permits it."

" Hello, ladies and gentlemen, our comentor, Mark Jameson and Professor Peirson are meeting with our dispatched mobile response unit at Groversmill, New Jersey to investigate a meteor crash. We bring you now to Groversmill, New New Jersey."

" Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Mark Jameson investigating the meteor object. Is this it? Yes, well the sheer power of this thing to tear up the entire field, was well, amazing. the diamter of the object is about, well, what would you say Professer Peirson?"

" About 20 feet by 10 feet," said Professor Peirson.

" Thank you, the bystanders are coming close to this dispite warnings from the police. A man is fighting with an officer, the man is losing," said the commentor," Do you hear that? it sounds like a low whining sound, now it is fluctuating. here, bring the microphone closer." A low whining sound comes from the meteor.

" Here is Mr. Turner, owner of the farm," said Mr. Jameson," what do you think of your visitor? ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Turner."

Mr. Turner mumbles something into the camera. " A little louder, please," said the comentor.

" Well, I was listening to the radio, and half sleeping. well, something on the radio about mars, and i was half--" started Mr. Turner.

" And then what happened?" asked the Mark Jameson, rushing the farmer.

" Well, as i was saying: i was half listening to the program about mars--" started Mr. Turner, again.

" Yes, and you saw and heard something, correct?" asked Mr. Jameson, interrupting the farmer again.

" Yes, and i heard a small hissing sound as it hit the ground," said Mr. Turner.

" Well, thank you, Mr. Turner. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Turner. hold on, the meteor is shifting around, it is litterally coming apart," said the comentor," Okay, i am at a safer distance now. the meteor now looks like a giant metalic man! wait, it's hand is shifting around. whoa, it just blew up our truck! Oh, it is looking right at me--" A large explosion goes off.

" Fellow viewers, due to reasons out of our control, we have lost contact with the mobile response unit. Please sit tight as we try andestablish contact with them. Until then, Habatchi and Fuege:" said the Anchorman, as music started up.

" This just in, reports of three more meteors falling have been recorded. Also, greyish black gas has been discovered outside of the farm from the first meteor crash. People are being advised to leave the area, cars through exits 10 and 43, the rest are hopelessly jammed. WHoa! something has just crashed into the building next to us, I am on the roof now. I will continue to report to you as long as i can." The sounds of metal digging into concrete can be heard.

" Okay, something is climbing up the building, whatever it is is reaching for-" started the anchorman

" Your planet is ours," moaned a voice into the mike.

" This is Thomas Harmon with KDKA, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we have lost contact with New York. We will be picking up where they left off," said a different male voice," We have reports now of 7 more meteors crashing into various parts of the United States. We take you to the military, who appears to be armed and ready to stop the invaders.

" This is Michael Alvez, the military has informed me that they will be using rocket-like devices to destroy the aliens," said the comentor," I am here with Colonial Franklen Davenport, and he and his men are loaded and about to take fi-"

" Fire!" commanded the Colonial, a loud explosion goes off.

" We have hit the alien, it took off what appears to be an arm, hold on, it is looking right at us with to glowing red eye-" started the Michael Alvez, all that comes through on the radio is a loud pulse.

" Well, we have lost contact with Alvez, we are to assume he is dead like the others," said Thomas Harmon," The military is scrambling several of their men and vehicles, as we now know, this is full scale war. Hold on, what...what is going on, the light is flickering on and off..."

" Inhabitants of this world, you know fall to the Decepticon Empire," said an ominous voice of Thomas' talking," you have no chance of a fight, surrender now."

" We, we have regained control of this transmission. as i was saying...no, i didn't hear it, what? taking over the planet?" questioned the anchorman, not noticing he was still on-air," Oh, excuse me, we take you now to the military's next attempt. they have cleared out both areas where the alies are and are preparing a bombing run."

" This thing even on? how do i know i am talking? it's on? really?" asked Commander James Ivory," Well, we are about to drop a payload of 13 war-heads on the three of them below."

" And you expect this to stop them?" asked a comentor.

" Yes, seeing as one smaller rocket took the one's arm off, we think thirteen will suffice," said the commander," we are over location, drop load now!" a series of large explosions release, several robotic screeches can be heard.

" Well, we have a confirmed destruction of the three robots, but the other four have disappeared," said the comentor," wait, they..they're gettin up! God almighty, mini rockets are headed right this way." the sound of metal breaking and crashing can be heard in the distance, the mike thumping and breaking on the ground can be heard also.

Several days later, after most of the people were either killed or in hiding, the bodies of the original 3 robots were lying on the ground near a large Model A factory.

We never found out what killed the robots, their bodies taken apart and put up in a museum to remind us that we are not as alone as we thought. the other 7 robots disappeared completely, scientists think they fled earth in a last ditch effort to escape what ever killed their comrades.

With the ending of this story, may I say Happy Halloween to all my fellow Seibertronians who read this short adation of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds.
