I hear you there. Many years ago, I wanted to keep everything and keep each line as complete as possible, even if it meant having multiple versions of some characters (and sometimes, that meant having different deco versions of the same mold as the same character). But, space limitations in my apartment started to become an issue, and as much better "G1" representations of characters came out, like Combiner Wars Legends Class Powerglide, it was easier to let go of "less perfect" incarnations such as Universe 2008 Ultra Class Powerglide. Every 12 to 18 months or so, after buying up a new subline of Generations figures, I usually round up anything I don't need to keep anymore for sake of having a newer, more desirable version, and sell them off. In addition to saving space, it gives me the added benefit of some extra money to buy new, better figures down the line. For a line of plastic figures that represent robotic, metallic beings, my Transformers collection is surprisingly organic.
I'm getting that way, pruning the trees, trimming the bushes, whatever you want to call it. There's always figures from a few lines that I won't get rid of, and I really need to make a "misfit" shelf where all the bots of lines gone by go. I have a top shelf of rando bots, then I have my G1 Sunbow leader shelf (of actual G1 figures), then my basically complete G1 S1 Decepticons as seen above (can't wait for Siege REFLECTOR!!), then my mixed up G1 Autobots, then another rando shelf of stuff and things, AND THEN the "active" bin of whatever else I take out to play (Generations/Movieverse/Aligned). So much stuff is not even out, the rest of my G1 collection is in a bin in the attic (with some Alternators and MP stuff mixed in for good measure) along with everything in my sale thread in bins.
Organic Transformers are a thing Wolfman!!

Ok, I get it now. But dont you need some smaller voyager sized decepticons to fight all those deluxe and voyager sized autobots you have?
OF COURSE I need them, but do I reaaaaaaaaaally need them?! Unless I'm really pulling the trigger and selling a bunch of stuff, I should probably stick with picking up Reflector x3 and some Tetrajets..I mean, I NEED Starscream.
