That is accually the true original meaning, it is a fake sideshow freak-or someone who is odd by choice-

Geek-a carnival performer who does disgusting acts

Freak-a carnival performer who does disgusting acts
or a person with an unusual or odd personality or someone who is so ardently devoted to something that it resembles an addiction; "a golf addict"; "a car nut"; "a bodybuilding freak"; "a news junkie

looks like we are probably freaks, unless u know a lot about your computer (i know jackshit! )
