I have it on display. So far, I only transformed it once, back and forth. Right now, he's in Vador mode. He's too great looking in "bot" mode to change back in Death Star mode.

I have it on display. So far, I only transformed it once, back and forth. Right now, he's in Vador mode. He's too great looking in "bot" mode to change back in Death Star mode.

Haha, I am so intrigued I actually want one. If only to justify and give my seal of approval to him being on this list. What sucks about him is that it is hard to find a second hand one with all his panels. Kanrabat, if ever you find one complete (at least the panels), either in a yard sale or at Village de valeurs for cheap, pick him up for me and I will repay you.

You're about a year late. L'Entrepôt du Jouet had one (just one), brand new and sealed for 50$.
Now they moved... to Mirabel! Like at one million kilometers of where they were before!

I dot have a camera for that. But here is what I will do. I will make a post (or series of posts) in my Èon the tf hunt with willy j" thread. There will be unboxing images and descriptions of how I feel as I play with it. And I promise not to use instructions or video reviews (I dont usually anyway). And I will show pictures of it transformed at different progressions. I wont give up and update the thread with where I am in the transformation. And then I will conclude with whether or not he should be on this list.

Well, since I'll be the one sending him out, here's some things...

1. He'll arrive in bot mode. I don't have the packaging anymore and no way I'm gonna transform him. Also probably a hell of a lot easier to ship it that way.

2. I'll include instructions, if I can find them.

3. I actually don't know if I can find the small TIE fighters that came with him.

Dark of the Moon Deluxe Soundwave, particularly the shoulders and arms because you have to turn them in a certain way, but the robot mode head blocks them from turning completely. The whole figure is Revenge of the Fallen Mixmaster or Optimus Prime levels of complicated, but scaled down to the size of a really short Deluxe. Also, on my figure the right shoulder joint has a tendency to pop out when moved, but I suspect that's not a universal problem with the mould.

I wanted to try the mode out to see if it belonged in this thread, so I bought t today at Winners (TJ Maxx) for 5$. It doesnt. It's not a great toy but the only annoying part is the cheap plastic.

Thanks so much to RK_Striker_JK_5 for giving me (free of charge) the Death Star Darth Vader crossover transformer for me to try out for this thread (and eventual list). That was extremely generous, especially shipping him to canada which is not cheap in the least.

So I unboxed him!!!!!!!!!



I was too excited to transform him that I forgot to insert batteries and try out the gimmicks. The robot mode itself is pretty great though. He has the same massive shoulder pads as Cyberton Primus but aside from that the planet bits fold along him nicely. I think y favourite part of the toy are the hidden compartments for smaller toys found all around him, it's very fun. Kind of reminds me of the Mighty Max toys but on a whole different level. Awesome headsculpt (it's Vader!).

Now for transforming him, it was easier than I expected. Sorry for the letdown, but it was actually very intuitive (for the most part). Once I unfolded all the panels, I just folded him body onto itself and saw that the arms could peg on his waist and that's about it. I then proceeded to orient the panels the right way so that they are where they should be. That took me at most 10 minutes.

And then I started alligning the panels and trying to make everything flush. That took at least 30 mins- 1 hour and I am no where near finished. I keep undoing what I did. Now I am at the point where there are only 3 panels that wont listen to my pleas. I will take a break now (post 2 articles on the site) and get back to it later.









Oh by the way, this is the number 1 most annoying transformer of all time, my list is now complete.

You were really lucky to have found a donator, Will! I found one at the Marché Au Puce ST-Michel but I didnt ask for the price nor have checked if it was complete.

Anyway, the trick is there's an order to do things. The panels must be asembled in order, ending with one that must be put in at the very last.

I'll transform mine after in an hour or two just to make sure. It's been a while, so me too, will play by hear.

Will, you should defenitely put batteries in him. The sound and light features are pretty fun and there's a TONS of them.



Death Star mode have another feature. Tuck the handgun with missile between Vador's legs before transformation. If everything is aligned properly, you can open two panels over Vador's head. You press his head and the missile fire!



Did you have the cape and lightsaber too? I cant figure where to store the saber, but the cape can store in one of the "coffers".

Well, the deal was I do him without ever looking at the instructions so I am having harder time. And I thought the cape stayed when transforming him, haha. I did get all the accessories, my donor was very kind.

Well, glad he got there safe and sound. I can't wait to see him on the list. I transformed him once, and the panels were very difficult for me. He was just gathering dust for me.

Oh, I never looked at the instructions either. I don't think I ever had any. From the very beginning, I went blind. And I noticed right away that the order of the panel folding/unfolding is very important. This time around, I made a mistake by saving the bottom panel for last. I had to undo a couples just to put it in place. I also popped lots of panels off and pop them back in.

In all honesty, it could have been designed better. Forget the minifigs, cloth cape, and coffers. Make ALL the panels, the cape. Death Star colored at the outside, black inside. It would have been hard to do for a seamless Death Star mode, but I think it could have been done.

I think the first ones you need to do are the 4 big ones, meaning the shoulder-cofferes, the bottom, and the back peice that you need to pull outside. The rest should follow naturally.

Honestly, my #1 most annoying TF to do is defenitely the Alternity Seeker mold. Doors popping off every single times your fingers bruch them. The fact that the chest refuse to peg in the crotch no matter what I do and it clearly obvious it go there but it never will. The fact that the legs work in a way that it's either too tight to do anything, or too loose to do any standing.
That mold is goddamn garbage. Great looking in both modes, but not fun at all.
