Isn't the Decepticon Trooper based on the Barricade mold, that many have said doth suck?
And I thought the Decepticons in general were better known for being able to fly - wouldn't a deluxe jet-former have been more apropos?

He is. but somehow the Trooper retool improves the mold a ton.

This isn't the G1 cartoon. The WFC and FOC video games reserved jet modes strictly for Seekers and Aerialbots only. I took primal camping with me this weekend, he has a nice spot in the new RV for traveling. He looks very judgmental in beast mode

We still have one more wave in the Studio Series line in 2024 that has yet to be revealed fully, which includes War for Cybertron Ratchet. While we do not have any listings for that 4th wave, Amazon.com somehow put up listings for the first wave of 2025. Now you can't order these and they have no images. BUT it makes us wonder if the toys listed will be available earlier than anticipated.
The listings are the following:
86 Galvatron (only labelled as Leader Galvatron on Amazon). This is a redeco of the previously released leader Galvatron figure but in a cartoon deco. We are not sure if there might be retooling as well.

It's been a while since we've seen an intentionally rare Transformer released, and even less common for it to be from Hasbro. No Surprise it's an Optimus Prime figure, right? As part of the 40th Anniversary celebration and ahead of the release of Transformers: One, a special "Battle Damaged" version of Studio Series 112 Optimus Prime/Orion Pax has been revealed by Hasbro HK limited to only 230 individually numbered copies globally! For Hasbro HK's part they'll be giving away 40 of them (8 per day) at Hasbro Fans Expo to people spending $3,000HKD ($384USD) in the Hasbro booth.
This isn't the only exclusive being offered. For those spending $800HKD ($102USD) they have "Transformers 40th Anniversary Commemorative Poker Cards" limited to 280 at the Expo (global number wasn't given). For those spending $500HKD ($64USD) they're giving out 280 40th Anniversary collectable coins which appear to be limited 5,000 globally. And while it doesn't appear to be exclusive, 500 sets of BotBots are being given to those that spend $300HKD ($38USD).
No word on where else these will be made available around the world, but we do have San Diego Comic Con THIS WEEKEND (Hasbro Fans Expo will be offering SDCC exclusives) so who knows? When we do we'll be sure to let everyone know and you can talk about it in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums!

Not a doubt in my mind, especially since it isn't limited to just Transformers purchases. A person can spend a ton of money on Marvel and Star Wars with no interest in Transformers and get one.

Indeed, I think it's the gulf between the colors of his original toy and character model carrying over to Marvel and cartoon continuity respectively that makes us so often forget how his color would randomly shift from purple to a sort of pale indigo in the cartoon, since that was a comparatively subtle change. Even though light-indigo was used more throughout TF:TM, "purple" just rolls off the tongue easier, so we think of Galvy as such; therefore he's gotten way more purple toys over the years, making a light-indigo SS'86 Galvatron worthwhile, despite the sheer number of times the Kingdom mold's been repainted.

Personally hoping they pass on the two smaller guns/ships in favor of a better matrix with chain.

It would be difficult for them to remove one single accessory from that mold, better to just rework it in to the existing sprues.

ROTF Multipack revealed at SDCC, featuring SS-32 Optimus Prime, Jetfire, and (strangely) Arcee, Chromia, and Elita-1. Turns out there was only one deluxe instead of the rumored two. All figures appear to be unchanged except for SS-32, who has Energon swords instead of the blaster.
