Well, why would Lyzack need to be included, though? The combiner's already more than complete without her.

Because she's family. That'd be like sideswipe without sunstreaker, starscream without seekers. Like a can of beer that's sweeter than honey. Like a millionaire that has no money. Like a rainy day that is not wet. Like a gamblin' fiend that does not bet. Like Dracula without his fangs, its just like the boogie to the boogie without the boogie bang. It just isn't right.

I went the reverse route. At first I was thinking, but this isnt Ramhorn, and then I totally gushed over the fact that we now have both an original toy AND a toy that homages the onscreen characters. While I am not fond of the two previous releases, this is really making me reconsider a few things. Still not sure if its worth the general price tag but consider me greatly intrigued.

Also, it helps that this is a mold I still havent seen yet so there is 0 mold fatigue. I am super curious about the combined head now and the torso.

PS: Also, I really disliked the original ramhorn toy as a kid.

Yeah, it left me, and, probably many a kid, scarred for life :BANG_HEAD:

For real?! Scarred for life how? Ram Horn is one of my favorite Transformer toys ever!!! Unless, of course, you are referring to his combination-form... Then I can see where you're coming from.

The Airraid mold might make a good lyzack with proper wing retooling.(Or a Nosecone with proper tread retooling. I can kinda see it.)

I always figured it was the red light casting on them that amde them red. But, not having a proper colour scheme, I associate them with that red coluor. So this makes me really happy.

The first 2 reveals were nothing to me. This gets me excited. Really happy. If the other two are like this, I may seriously consider getting the set. The original Tripredacus was among my favourites, loved Ram Horn's crazy eyes and mouth movement.

Sooo...The front of the vehicle mode is made of the hollow as hell back of Brawl's vehicle mode?

:BANG_HEAD:

I seriously hope this isn't going to be Nosecone, it looks pretty awful. I would have thought Rook would have made more sense as a retool base- all you would need to do is plug a drill into the front port of his vehicle mode and bam- instant drill tank.

I dont like the idea of this as drillhorn because then that means that the beet are the same mold for liokaiser.

I thought the idea was to pay homage to the G1 toy as much as possible. If that one had different leg parts than this one should too. Thats all I am saying.

That is very true, despite looking nice from a style point, it won't be true to the original. ..and it's already comprising on having five members over its original six (they could, if needed, put hellbat out using powerglide).

Just an idea, but the breast components that turn into guns and animals could be reused microns. Makes sense right?

Also, while we talk of drillhorn and nosecone, I do find this drill component in this brawl mold really small. In both of those, the drill is the main eye catching component of the alt mode. Here, it looks like just a small add on.

I'm just trying to say that while us fans are now excited at the repaint prospect, I highly doubt I would be reading the same comments if this was revealed as nosecone or drillhorn. I would be thinking:

"really? This is your best attempt at Drillhorn/Nosecone? Looks more like a tank with a toothpick attached. Not much of a retool, would have preffered a new mold"

But for the Predacus dude, this is pretty great, that part doesnt change.

At this point, even speculating about a liokaiser repaint is enough for me. Though you're right, it is a poor version if the two characters respectively but beggars can't be choosers at this point in the struggle for liokaiser :P

Haha, yeah. Curious though, would you preffer this over a straight up rerelease of the original?

Fort Max was the main G1 grail to most collectors and now he is heavily discounted and still available. We collectors have a loud voice and some of us have deep pockets. But we arent many and even fewer have deep pockets. So I am pretty sure that if I can still buy a fortmax right now, 2 years after its release, a liokaiser reissue would not be impossibly hard to order or get a hold of (though it could be costly).

Encore Fort Max's ubiquity might also have to do with how many were produced. Suppose an Encore Liokaiser wasn't as mass produced as the quantity of Encore Fort Maxes, then it's possible that that thing could come and go more quickly, especially with how less expensive it would be than Fort Max is regardless of quantity.

But if there were to be as many, or even more, Liokaisers produced as Fort Maxes, then yeah, it'd probably be fairly easy to get.

In that case I would definitely pump for the original (or a reissue of the original at least). I'm still trying to get the reissued multiforce and the rest of the six man micromaster combiner team

Okay, so, we've gone way off topic.

Who's gonna be the torso, Sea Clamp or Cicadacon? And from which mold?

Both would make sense in a way. Sea Clamp was the biggest of the three in the original toy, but he formed the pants instead. And his show model was the smaller of the two.

Cicadacon would also work since he was the torso of the original toy and his show model was the beefiest of the three. But, the Air Raid mold would work so much better for him than any of the torso molds, and Skydive's head is a close enough match to his show model's head that he wouldn't need a new head. And his original toy was the smallest of the three as well.

But looking at all of the available CW Voyagers there are to choose from (Optimus, Silverbolt, Motormaster, Cyclonus, Hot Spot, Onslaught, an Scattershot---Sky Lynx isn't likely to be available for Fun Pub just yet), none of them really work that well. The only one that might possibly, slightly work is Cyclonus for Cicadacon, but just barely, and not nearly as well as the Air Raid mold would work for him.

And if Cicadacon does end up being the torso, which Deluxe would work for Sea Clamp? The Rook mold would have worked well with its ability to give him Hulk Hands as a homage to his claws, but that mold's already reserved for Tarantulas. Maybe the Drag Strip mold could use the Mirage head for him, but I don't know.

Man, this is tough.

One more observation about Ram Horn.

You know what the mostly-gray-with-red-designs deco of the tank's body kinda reminds me of? Beast Machines Mega class Tankor's tank body deco:

And now I think I like this toy even more than I did before.

Doesn't Twin Twist need two drills.

technically, but if he gets Rook's footpiece mold, or trades handfeet with Impactor, he has 3. So I think that is satisfied

What if, stay with me here, instead of twin twist we get top spin. But here's the kicker instead of a repaint he's a new mold. A mold that will be our first look at Strafe to complete our technobot team. Extremely EXTREMELY unlikely but hey, a man can dream.

If they did do a new CW/UW version of Liokaiser, the design would be a step backwards, as the original only needed the head as an extra, not the fists or feet. Make mine a reissue, please!

So what's everyone's guesses/hopes for the last two? Here's mine:

If Sea Clamp is the torso:
Sea Clamp - Hot Spot (two new heads)
Cicadacon - Air Raid with Skydive's head

If Cicadacon is the torso:
Cicadacon - Cyclonus (two new heads)
Sea clamp - Mirage redeco
