What can we do? Hey, we're already putting out a sticker sheet for Magnaboss, let's include some eye stickers on there. It's better than just leaving it with no eyes." Occam's razor, my friend.

If that IS true- and that's a big if- it's still unacceptable. I don't care why the eyes aren't there, only that they aren't. Whether it was Funpub or the factory that f*cked up, somebody still f*cked up.
This quote will hold a special place in my heart.Delta Magnus wrote:Was I a bit overzealous in implying that Hasbro/Funpub apologists were subhuman? Perhaps.
Still, it's out of line to be calling people who aren't that bothered by the flaw idiots.Delta Magnus wrote:But they are definitely idiots.

Though I use the term "people" very generously with regards to Hasbro/Funpub apologists. That Bot wrote:It seems entirely possible that the lack of eyes was a factory error that was too late to fix and FunPub's stickers are damage control. I highly doubt FP would deliberately leave out that particular paint app.
Apologist? Or realist?

At any rate, if the only thing people can complain about is missing beast mode eye paint, then I would say Megatron is a resounding success. Outdated mold or not, he's freaking cool.

That might be the best way to put it. The engineering is up to standard, but the aesthetics are what make the toy feel so much older since the toy is physically so much more ornate, decorated, and detailed when compared to the toys of today that have a greater amount of smooth surfaces with less molded detail in them and transformations that are quick-and-easy to do. The mold's aesthetics are almost like the secret lovechild of those of the Beast Era toylines and the Revenge of the Fallen toyline.megatronus wrote:I do think the toy's overall design sensibilities are outdated, or put another way, the aesthetics don't quite match the other toys in the set. He's simply not as streamlined.

What I heard second hand was that the initial run was 40 and more were dropped off on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Hey @AllsparkNews, @seibertroncom, @tfw2005, @TFormers, and @BotCon fans everywhere, are you ready for some Magnaboss decal instructions?
Let's start With Megatron. While not part of Magnaboss, he has decals on Ironhide's sheet. Pred symbol & dragon eyes. There are 8 Megatron eyes on the sheet. The extras are there because of how tiny they are - you will have spares if you tear or loose one.
And now the actual stickers for Ironhide. He uses all the rest in the gray as well as one of the Maximal symbols. 2 things about Ironhide: Apply the chest decals from bottom to top. Watch for wrinkles. And apply the bottom waist decals before the belt. Applying the 2 bottom waist stickers 1st (start at the outside) will let you cover anything extra under the "buckle".
Silverbolt gets some brown added to robot and jet mode. Maximal symbol locations are suggestions, not guidelines. A lot of the sculpted detail lines up under the lines on the decals. The stickers have enough give to push down into the details if gentle.
Magnaboss has an option for fans: Mouth or no mouth. In case anyone is off-put by the grin. Again, the Maximal symbol position is optional as well. Sticker order for Magnaboss, it is best to apply the "nose" area decal 1st. And apply the sides of the "bird" head 1st before the top.
Prowl probably has the most decals. Lots of stripes, lights, and emblems. I think the Prowl in the case at the convention was missing the yellow horn decals. Please note that the white decal that goes over the black nylon "elbow" piece must be applied before the stripes. Speaking of those UK police stripes, there is another option for Prowl that I don't have photos for. But you can leave the UK stripes off, leave the BW robot mode decals off, and add the Autobot symbol for a more-accurate G1 look. Also on Prowl's sheet are those little circle Decepticon logos? Where do those go?
They go on TCC Ramjet and Skywarp's forearms. The white ones work on Takara Starscream too.
Lastly, those red Decepticon symbols on Ironhide's sheet. SG? Sure. Or use one on Ravage for show accuracy. More about the @BotCon decals. The spare faction stickers include Wreckers which can be used on Tigatron or TFSS 5.0.
Another thing missing from the Magnaboss in the case (I forgot to convert the weapons this way), his sword! It's a little undersized, but Magnaboss needs a sword!!
