Kurona wrote:Randomhero wrote:Kurona wrote:To be fair, in G1 there were too many Decepticon combiners. The Autobots had Superion, Defensor and Computron while the Decepticons got seven of the damn things. Seven.
So this does at least even things out a little bit. Plus we all know the reason we didn't get those combiners this time round is because they're beasts which you just cannot make from the vehicle molds - and you needed those vehicle molds because all pre-1987 combiners (ie the ones people care about most) are made of vehicles.
That's why I always enjoyed the Decepticons having more Combiners. Back then the autobots always outnumbered the Decepticons. Even back in 84 you had all the autobot cars like jazz, Ironhide ratchet etc which consisted of 11 all together and the minibots which had 6. The 84 cons were Megs, soundwave, his caskets and 3jets. Autobots have always outnumbered them -mostly because Decepticons are more or were suppose to be more dangerous than the autobots- so getting many Combiners always felt like they were evening the playin field. The autobots always had numbers but the Decepticons had Gestalts.
That's been my argument for a year and half now. I never expected Predaking or Abominus because like you said you can't really repaint them to anything appealing, I know that's how some feel about half of combiner wars because we got a lot of retools and repaints but for me they all worked. I never looked at alpha bravo and said that's just a recolored Vortex or slingshot as a white firefly. They are all the characters they're intended not to be. According to some Hasbro says they're working on predaking and Abominus but ill believe but when I see it. We had a lot of concepts get abandoned and many figured never released so we'll see but I'm not waiting for me to happen.
You could easily get some repaints/retools out of the beasts really. Razorclaw into Leobreaker or Leo Prime for instance; Headstrong and Tantrum could share a mold; Cutthroat could actually make a pretty good Laserbeak and Buzzsaw if you wanna go crazy and make a Cassette combiner.
I do agree with your former paragraph tho. Especially considering Combiners add on like 5 troops to the army - though in later years (basically 1987 onwards) the Autobot and Decepticons ranks generally started to even out.
And that's how it is now which is awesome. Right now the current waves are evened out. Half bots half cons. We've always gotten more autobots than Decepticons which annoys me. I like everything but I am a Decepticon boy so I've always been bummed when we get like 5 Decepticons and 10 autobots in CHUG.

Maybe I mean it is Takara and let's be honest they don't care. If they make a Liokaiser than they will PROBABLY shell out and make two new figures to make a torso but it will probably be an exclusive and go for the same price as Megatronia which I've heard just by rumors here and there Megatronia is the last United combiner. Like I said rumors here and there.
I'm getting hasbros Liokaiser because I want more decepticon combiners and I can make Dezarous work just fine. I have no attacthement to Deathsarous at all. I have tried for the 3rd time 2 weeks ago to watch victory and still can't get past the 3rd episode. It's just so anime I can't get into it because I'm not into anime.
I've considered Megatronia because I want more con combiners. I was just going to consider them my own version of the DJD because they're unique yet uniform but I have Victorion and I love Victorion, she's actually my second favorite combiner and Megatronia would just be black convoy of Victorion and the price of Megatronia is awful.
Yeah, seems like Megatronia will be the last, but my hope remains, no matter how slim. Even so, I'll preorder Hasbro's Liokaiser until there's news otherwise.

Ok, but hey as a consolation you did buy from a direct source because unlike everyone else, you got the Asia edition, directly from the main vendor: Robot Kingdom. That means you will get the exclusive asia edition coin most of us arent getting

BBTS and TFsource are importers but Robot Kingdom is not, they are the source for the asia editions.

Do you own Animated Rodimus Minor? I think he is pretty close to perfect, MP Wheeljack as well

That aside, I really like your passion for victorion, use this board to spread the love as much as possible. People who dont own her (like me) probably dont know what they are missing.

She is really awesome and I love her standing on my shelves with Superion. She looks good and the colors are beautiful with her and they all match. I like the loud, and this woman loud and not shamed by it either. She is really cool.

Ugh, I'm so mad because I love this so much... Only complaint is I'd rather Hellbat be more of a red color... I think this is an interesting take on Liokaiser, reminds me of something the Legends comics would think up. I even love Deathsaurus, he looks like some kind of wacky robot kaiju. Shame It'll be out of my price range...

Yeah I am getting that coin and it's a coin lol.
I actually do own Rodimus! He, Swindle and Ironhide are my only remaining animated toys left and yes Rodimus is amazing.

I really like the looks of the bots here, especially the limbs. I'm a sucker for the CW Arialbot molds. I don't like the relatively exclusive nature of it, but will keep my eyes open for opportunities to pick him up.

Because it's platinum which is unfortunate I would imagine it's not more than $120 so it should be reasonable.
Unfortunately I have become a sucker for PE hands and feet. Perfectly happy with the hand/foot combo of hasbro but I got the PE hands and feet for Superion, Menasor and bruticus for $10 all together due to cashing out my tfsource points and became addicted to having all the scramble city combiners having s consistent look.

That begs the question: do the CW COmputron and Victorion feet make the combienrs as tall as they are when they have the PE feet?

Taller actually. Half an inch maybe. I took Victorion next to Superion and he's a little bit taller which made me actually cave and pick up a second bruticus set for her. Again, wanted consistently. Now that doesn't mean the hands and feet she came with were bad but I just wanted her to look like the rest of my combiners. Except sky reign. He has the hasbro hands and feet because it makes him looks more beastly

Can't wait for Liokaiser, this actually seems like a really reasonable price for him, considering the amount of paint apps, the 6 new heads (most of which include moving parts) and the additional guns and micron

Well, some third-party companies made replacement Mixmasters for Titan Devastator, so it could very well happen...

Re: 2016 Generations Platinum sets
I wonder if any retailer would be interested in taking a Metro Titan Exclusive ?
I'd quite welcome one even with us also getting Trypticon (and Scorponok not being impossible eventually either).
I know it would me a heavy lean ion favour of Decepticon Bases but perhaps he could be a China Exclusive and then they can offer a portion of the stock to target or Walmart say. I'd much rather have something like a Metro Titan as Platinum release than some crazy priced thing.
Platinum might make the best sense for him as they they don't have to make up a new Headmaster gimic for him to fit in with the other toys.
--------
As for the other Team member for that Combiner mentioned above - I would suggest alternative limbs like Alpha Bravo / Off Road is the way to go as then you just need a Black swindle Repaint and another jet.
Ideal for the vs Deluxe sets idea I keep suggesting.
Another idea might be to include a bonus piece to allow one of the characters to connect to the back of the torso or to transform Seacon style into a rifle.

Most retailers aren't even interested in non-exclusive Titans. They definitely wouldn't show up at Walmart or Target. Also considering the size of the box and price involved it would have to be at a time when Titans aren't currently in stores, meaning after Scorponok/Omega Supreme (assuming they don't have something else planned).
