Well i thought i'll try my hand at using Photoshop to alter TF pictures, so far i'm not having any luck, i just want to recolour Transformers like i've seen others do.

Best thing to do? Pick your color. Use the paint brush tool. And at the top pick overlay. Then just start coloring over. If that's not to your liking try the other modes besides overlay till you find something you like.

If there was a bowing smiley I would use it. This'll work.

look up a process called Colorizing.
if its the same on photoshop (am using paint shop pro). You basically highlight an area by selecting it, and 'colorize' it any colour you wish. it changes the colour but not the brightness of it, so you get appropriate shading.

That's also another way of doing it. That's actually how I did that leg on the mech you had up in the other thread. Used the pen tool to box in the area and then filled it with a color. Although in PS you would have to set a transfer mode so the layer underneath would show through.

That's a very good re-coloring job. Photoshop can be a bitchin program once you get the hang of it. My suggestion. search for absolutecross photoshop tutorials. It's where I first learned how to use photoshop. Try out the flaming text. It's a fun effect to use!

Well i have a problem with my paintshop now, the history brush tool doesn't work, it doesn't revert the image to normal, it lightens the image, and doesn't remove what i had done to the image, and i don't know how it went like that!
