Mazinkaiser question

Mazinkaiser question

Does anyone know why the Mazinkaiser series was so short? Was it just supposed to be a DVD thing? I saw a clip of it on a commercial for the Anime Network, but i never saw the show actually air on it. I have owned all the DVDs for a few years, but i have never heard that much info on the subject.

It was just an OVA. OVA's are usually short.

:-( Thats really a damn shame.... Go Nagai should really consider doing a Grandizer(or Grendizer) series in the same sort of way, Grandizer RULES!!!!!!
