G1 Arcee is described as an Autobot "Valkyrie", but I have never seen a description for what that function actually is. Could someone clear that up for me?

In popular culture, the term "Valkyrie" is used to describe any female warrior, armored most of the time. It has it's roots in Viking myth I think. It's somewhat synonymous to "Amazon" of Greek myth.

That function for Arcee stems from her BotCon 2001 toy btw, but since current US toys never list function anymore, that has stuck as her "main" one. Her latest Japanese function is simply "Warrior".

You would be correct about the origins. In Norse mythology, Valkyries carried the souls of dead warriors from the battlefield to Valhalla, where they would prepare for Ragnarok. This is why I was so confused and intrigued by Arcee having that function, because she clearly does not function in that manner lol.

Seems I'll have to come up with my own meaning for what that term means within the Autobot ranks, other than simply "female warrior" lol. Sheesh, do those people generalize or what?

Also, on a personal note.. when are you coming back to the HMW?? :-D
