I may be behind on this but have we been given any clue as to an actual story line in this movie?
I have recently read that the director is not the one that did the other movies and that he said he was going to reimmagine the whole thing.
Furthermore, he said that although he liked the transformers trillogy, he didnt really imagine them that way ( which is my opinion as well) and that his renditions will be much different.
Is that true? If so, it means that this movie will not have to pick up without all the primary protagonists that were killed off in d.o.t.m. Also, we may get VERY G-1 accurate movie renditions of our fav characters which will no doubt get us more G-1 figures, specifically dino bots!!! (Since Im pretty sure the dinos have officially been announced as characters in the new movie.)
So we will finally get some modernized retro dino figs!!
Finally, when is this movie slatted for release?

Micahel Bay, who directed the 1st 3 films, will direct this one as well. It will most likely go something like this:

- The storyline is completely unknown at this point.
- Michael Bay, who directed the first trilogy, will direct this one as well. This will be his final Transformers film, and it's likely someone else will direct two more films to complete a second trilogy.
- It is slated for release on June 27, 2014.
- The confirmed Autobots so far are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Drift, Hound, and the Dinobots, of which Grimlock and Strafe (AKA Swoop) have been officially confirmed as being in the film.
- The Dinobots will appear more like realistic dinosaurs/dinosaur skeletons made of metal. Well, except some of them aren't exactly anatomically accurate...
- The Dinobots are extremely awesome.
- The only confirmed Decepticons are Lockdown and Galvatron.
- The characters will be slightly redesigned, but not to look like G1. However, the facial features of the new characters seem to be more traditional than the characters in the last trilogy.
- This film is still part of the same storyline as the last three installments, although it appears that very few characters from the previous trilogy will return, and the new storyline will be aligned with but not super-dependent on the past events.
- Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will have multiple alt-modes in the film. (See the Toy Fair 2014 gallery)

So it will be galvatron? Neat!! Kinda bummed not to have more g-1- accurate dinos though. All well. Maybe Ill be pleasantly supprised.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the movie has to do with Optimus being captured by Lockdown.

TC, Although Galvatron is confirmed in AOE what isn't known is, Will this be a Seperated Galvatron or is this Megatron upgraded through some various means such as in Previous Transformers.

Also nothing is known rather or not NEST from the previous Trilogy will return or is this just Random Countries. All Signs point to NO NEST in AOE. Could mean after DOTM, The Government, Disbanded NEST cause of the events in Chicago.

Some of the story strongly resembles the upcoming X-Men DOFP about Trask & the Sentinels & will be a lead up to Apocalypse in 2016. Like with X-Men we have Humans wanting to use their Powers or Technology. Such as with X-Men, the same thing is going on in AOE.

Meet the New Baddie Harold Attinger played by Kelsey Grammar, Similar towards Trask in DOFP, Harold wants to Make his own Transformers & wants the Current Cybertronians EXTINCT.

When asked Harold says I WANT THIER EXTINCTION. Saying something about them being Out Dated or Not Needed. Most of AOE is in Hong Kong or China. Some on goings about Optimus Prime is going to die again in AOE. Or Optimus Prime will be forced into Planetary Exile never to be allowed on Earth Again.

Lockdown plays a major role in AOE so does the Dinobots, Most of AOE is about The Transformers EXTINCTION this again is cause of Kelsey Grammar's Villan character.

Also there has been rumors that the Quints or even Unicron could be in AOE but for now this is RUMORS.

Seen in the Teaser Super Bowl Trailer was Unknown Ships some say Quints while other say Unknown Cybertronians & other say could be Unicron's Minions.

Keep in Mind Clyconus in AOE I am betting he is the Jet. But unknown if is Earth Based or Cybertronian.

Cant wait for AOE be awesome without Sam Witwicky but Hopefully in AOE they will make mentions on why Sam is not in this.

Also if Unicron is in AOE they should hold off until END CREDITS then do it in Avengers Thantos style.

I really hope they explain what happened to the previous Autobots like Dino and Ratchet... I mean, we didn't even know what happened to the Autobots from Revenge of the Fallen to Dark of the Moon. I'm assuming they did what movies do, which is explain the in between stuff in comics or something? I really hate it when they do it in movies...

If you want clarification & closure, That dosent happen in Bays movies & also Bay never really explains why or what happens to previous characters from the previous Characters.

Mainly they will just get a Nod such as Mikela in DOTM when Brains said that Mikela was Mean & Didn't like her.

I don't expect any refrences or anything on or about Sam Witwicky in AOE it will be like Sams character never exsisted.

This to me is why AOE is more of a Semi-Reboot more than a 2nd Trilogy while it maybe in the same timeline to me. AOE is a Brand New Deal, new characters & new Transformers.

I also expect Optimus & BB to be radically different from DOTM & I also see Optimus Killing Everything like he did in previous films that is why Optimus is the Leader HE IS A BAD-ASS 1 Robot Wrecking Crew.

Totally Different from the Preachy & Calm Optimus seen in Prime or in Generation 1 or in Beast Machines where Optimus was a Wussy Prophet.

Cant wait to see Galvatron things need Clarified IS THIS UPGRADED MEGATRON OR IS THIS GALVATRON SEPERATED.

We saw in Spy Shots that they Had Original Megatrons Body could somehow Megatron used something maybe the Dark Spark to become GALVATRON.

He is more main protagonist, then any kind of bad ass. He even wasn't originialy desinged to pretend he is. He is kinda like Yugi from Yu-gi-oh, he dosen't need to be powerfull, but he can;t just loose for real no metter how pathetic really he is.

They aren't weaker, they just don't get that much director's love.

I don't see Galvatron as a separate character, since he used Terran Truck as an alt-mode. This is not proper vechicale for Newcomning Decepticon leader.
