Drift sucks anyway.
I would much rather buy a Ultimate style Wheely that has over 8 hours of voice chip hell then a deluxe version of the biggest waste of character space since since damn there isn't anything else.
Drift isn't even a propper character he'S just McCartneys Mary sue/ fan character. Plus he's a Weaboo and he sucks.

I'm beggining to think that we are the last two people that Hasbros Marketing Department would like to meet right now. Not only will the Shia figure have the interchangeable arm and the beer can, the back of the box will have Bumblebees bio on one side and a pic. of Shia's suspended liscense and ticket on the other.

If this "snowball" gets any bigger, we are going to have to start our own thread to contain it. We could easily conjure up a "collectors set" to overshadow Drift, the constructicon AND the Alternity figures. "Universe 3.0" courtesy of Sledge and T-Macksimus. Figures we GUARANTEE won't be carried by Toy's R Us!

Mr Diem, welcome to the executive board. That's the kind of "outside the box" thinking we like to see.

Hm, comics characters that I'd like to see ahead of Drift would include a Marvel G1 styled Straxus, a Marvel G2 styled Jhiaxus, an IDW styled Nova Prime and an IDW styled Setinel Prime.

If we do see a Drift figure though I'll buy it, sight unseen, just to show my wallet's support for bringing comic characters to toy form. I would have done this with the WW Titaniums if Hasbro had bothered releasing more than a handful from the line in the UK (I wasn't as well versed with buying thing in internationally in those days, years of dealing with Hasbro UK's inability to release complete lines has forced me to learn). Enough sales on such sopposedly niche characters may well help in seeing some of my above wishlist in the future.

What, no Emirate Xaaron love? A toy of him would be great. Of course, for full authenticity, transforming it would irreparably break it.

Why not do a special line of Extended Universe releases like Star Wars.

Drift could be released in a wave with Rack'n'Ruin repaint of Safeguard, and Scrounge with "Special Arm Action".

You thinking of Shia again?

That would be an interesting line. Be even cooler if "da fans" could vote on what they'd like to see.

He he he. I didn't mention Xaaron, Impactor or Rack'n'Ruin due to them all having close ties to the Wreckers. I'm waiting to see if the Botcon toys manage to do anything interesting with any of them before they go on the list.

LOL, but no.

All the talk earlier of 'comic only' 'nobody knows him' and such, when I see stuff like that for TF I think of Scrounge.

Poor little Scrounge, built to be a spy with his special arm, there is no other like it, but regulated to funtion as a plot device for Blaster. I never understood why if he had all that audio/video gear and worked with Blaster that he wasn't a cassette instead of a uniwheel.

It truly is a shame that we can't do a fan-pic format to get some of our favorite but seldom-if-ever seen characters moved up the ladder and get toys produced. It has been left up to just the convention specials and folks like the ones bringing us the city-commander set and such to produce the rarities. And these aren't coming out in any great quantity and for those of us who have been bumpped back down to the dark ages (no credit cards, bank accts. etc.) getting some of this stuff is near impossible. If they can have fan pick Star Wars figures, and there were some damn obscure figures chosen for that, then we should have our Fan Pick Transformers! I can get us pitch-forks and torches, I say we rally through the gates of Hasbro and make ourselves heard. ** Diem and Sledge, the 3 of us need to get together so we can shamelessly exploit the situation and pitch our own new product line at the same time while the rest of the rallyers keep the guards at Hasbro busy. **

I like the design of Drift, think it'd make a good toy, but yeah, there are others that I've wanted for a lot longer, and still want a lot more.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

The thought of a Fans' Choice line for Transformers has occurred to me as well. I really like the fact that I was able to pick up Darth Revan from KB as a result of this kind of thing. (Revan and Malak actually came in #2 in that particular poll, from what I understand, but got the figures anyway because the figure that actually won had already been in the works for (if not already out in) the comic 2-packs at the time.) If I were to vote for headmaster/targetmaster characters and those characters win the poll, however, would Hasbro honor the notion that I was voting for the actual headmaster/targetmaster, and not a situation like Nightbeat (who is no longer binary-bonded to his partner in the TFCC repaint)? Not that I mind so much characters getting updated, it's just I'd prefer the idea of a headmaster still being a headmaster over acquiring Energon's powerlynx gimmick.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Perfect example being what they just handed us with the Clasisics/Universe Hot Shot and Jolt only in this case we still get the Mini-Con but they ditched the gimmick that he would activate. I think that they would probably make it so a Headmaster would still attach/detach but I wouldn't expect the stats to show up in a flip down chest compartment like the old school headmaster toys.
We would probably have to be pretty specific when making our initial nominations as far as which character and where his appearance is (something like "what's-his-name, TF:G1-Vol.2, issue #5, Dreamwave Prod. *short note*). That way it really would help isolate what we are after and lessen the chances of our candidate being a screwed up version by the time he reaches the final polls. Leave them a short blurb so it reduces the error factor.
...and then pray there is someone on the other end who is actually paying attention.

A fans choice poll wouldn't be too difficult I don't think. Star Wars site Rebelscum does one every now and again and it splits the voting sections up pretty well, with all the entries having some kind of picture to refer to when making the choice (except possibly some of the novel only characters, I don't know) and taking the most popular ones from each section and putting them into a playoff style bracket system to find the final few most requested. I'd be all over a TF version of this, especially since Transformers isn't a franchise where every last character down to the chicken soup machine repair men on the Death Star have been made as figures.

You know, such a poll could also serve as a good way to catch others up to speed on some of the lesser known characters. I know that for me it has been rather spendy keeping up on all of the Transformer mediums out there and there are many of the fans who aren't into it enough to want to keep up on the comics or put out the chunk of change to feed that habit. (I could probably be driving my dream truck right know if not for my transformer toy/comic addiction)
I know that some of the folks have not been too enthused about Drift getting made into a toy but this could be the springboard needed for some of the toys that those same folks felt were more deserving.
I've made it well known how much I wan't Drift but at the same time I'm still pissed-off over the fact that Dispensor was only a limited edition item through the Mt.Dew Summer store and, in all reality, he probably deserves the mass production treatment more. I have friends who aren't TF collectors that came to me shortly after the movies release wondering if they had made a toy of the Mt. Dew bot and if I could get them one. Maybe we should start researching and put our heads together, maybe rattle some corporate cages.

In deferance to lines like Star Wars & GIJoe to a lesser effect, Those lines are a lot easier and cheaper for Hasbro to knock out lesser known characters than TF's

Just look at the differance in yearly Club exclusives between TF and Joe. Sure the 5-year combiner set is a nice idea, Heatwave is the first decent exclusive to be released. (had the limbs been released two at a time it would have been better) I hope that the 2010 piece is substancial again.

Then again as I posted before, I wouldn't be surprized if Drift-san was the 2010 Club piece.
