If this is true, it is indeed good news.
Hot Rod/Rodimus should always have flames.

At first I thought someone repainted a Mirage and then used the Reprolabels sticker set. After comparing the Reprolabels flames to these they look different. These look painted on. The other thing I noticed is that it does have a Hot Rod head instead of the Mirage head.

I prefer the Kiss Players look a little more, especially the collapsible fishing rod on his forearm giving that G1 exhaust look. I kind of also liked the white stripes, I don't really care for the way the flames were done on this figure. I think I also agree with 1337W422102 about this car looking better in Blue with white stripes, but I do welcome this addition if the figure is legit. I'll be happy to see the Alternators line continue and the Ford GT is one of my favorite molds. Technically I believe this will be the fourth time it has been used (Mirage, Kiss Rodimus, BT Clear Mirage, and Alt Rodimus).

Finally!! now I don't have to pay like 100 bucks for the Kiss Player Rodimus, and the flames look qwuite good, i hope they decided to add back in the diecast on this relaunch of the Alternators.. or atleast go with some diecast.. but I'm probably dreaming, still nice to see them release him stateside..the autobot symbol on the hood looks a little small though..overall i like the Flames better, it goesnwith the name Rodmimus and harkens back to the original Hot rod... what a nice addition to my collection, i'm currently on an Alternators binge and won't stop till I have em all, by the way did Hasbro ever rerelease the Alternators that were in the boxes in the new bubble packaging, because I have like the very first Alternators releases and their in those clunky boxes...which for this line look better in bubble packaging for display purposes?

Damn your right No fishing rods??? WTF!!! I mean come one, that was like king of the nostalgia perks and was uber cool!!! what the hell man!!! Its gotta have that, plus the arm canons are cool.. Ok, I'm gonna catch hell for this one, and I know exactly from who.. but I will say it anyways...

HASBRO!!!! why is it everytime they get something and they have a chance to produce it very well.. they somehow miss that mark, its like ok, they give us what we will think is cool, then they leave off a few things and it just ruins it...HAlf assed!!!! I'm just glad they didn't leave off the Kiss Rodimus Head, and do a repaint of the mirage head.. oh man that would have sucked ass, but it is entirely possible it could have come down that way, I have no faith in Hasbro.. they are alweays hit or miss and not reliable in their toy design decisions..

Looks like I may buy the Kiss version after all, or atleast some pipes to add to his arms.. plural.. i always wondered why they didn't include the pipes on both arms.. so i hope someone releases them..in addition to this american release of Rodimus, then maybe that way i can save some money..

I don't see why the fishing rod would be included; that was a KISS accessory. None of the other Alts. have had such accessories.

The arm cannons would be nice, though. :-(

I dunno, but i think this is simply a work of a skilled kitbasher who painted his KP Rodimus, repackaged it in Alt-ish box and is to be up for auction on eBay...

The desc. text reads "Opening Hatchback" on Mirage's box as opposed to "Opening Engine Cover" on the rumored Alt Rodimus, though i'm not sure if there was such inconsistencies in the other Alts.

Because it ties him to G-1 nd yes no other one has that accessory, that is true, but why is that?? Why not have a little more then we are used tyo getting, I mean they are just plastic pipes that combine to form a fishing rod, but they tie the Alternator back tot he G-1 Hotrod from the fishing scene in the 1986 Movie, and the arm canons are alos centric to that character.. its just halfassed to me without those arm canons..

Yes, the lack of arm cannons is a little disappointing. We don't even know if this is official yet, though. Personally, I miss the yellow spoiler on his back (doesn't bother me so much in car mode).

Looks OK but would rather stick the painted goodness of the Kiss Version.

Hope this means that the Alts are indeed still alive. After seeing Rumble's rather lacking effort I thought they had decided to kill them off.

Yes I'm very happy, i'm white and by nature always smiling.. but seriously, i'm happy, and there is alot to be happy about, especially with the movie coming and merchandise galore, plus I have my Masterpiece Megatron and a Skywarp repaint coming out... ahhhh good times.... and no I don't always post a small novel, but is it really worth my time to post short little comments??

yeah a repaint can equal halfassed, unless its done very well...then it improves the previous release..
