I mean if your gonna import a Japanese version of an Alternator, instead of making it less then its counterpart, why not add one more set of pipes and make him better.. Its just good business sense, and its not like we are asking for alot, granted the new paint scheme is great, but not a fair trade off for the pipes and the visor..come on.. that seems kinda wrong to me.. I mean most hardcore fans, who also buy alternators, know of the simple little perks of the Takara Kiss Players Rodimus, why go cheap and drop those cool perks it doesn't make sense and really makes fans upset to see that kind of cheap production.. I swear...

You're loosing out on the accessories, Xiao Xiao, and the visor (maybe...). My though on all that is...tough break. Everyone out there that paid more, bought early, and really wanted a KP Rodiums should get some little extras.

I think this is more or less a repaint of Alt Mirage with a remolded head instead of an import of the Japanese version.
I started thinking about the arm cannons and the arms are tucked under the car so I don't know exactly how it would work. Seeing as how the weapons for most of the Alts/BTs reuse parts like engines as weapons, etc so maybe the exhaust can be removeable and fixed to the forearms in bot mode.

It's all speculation anyways. No one knows if this is even legitimate or not. These are just things to consider. Hasbro may not even be releasing a Hot Rod Alt. It wouldn't be the first time a Kit Bash claiming to be real popped up on ACtoys.net.
We also have no way of knowing what the UPC on the box belongs to other than it is supposed to be registered to Hasbro. After looking at the website I found, I think users can submit info in the database much like Wikipedia, and we all know how accurate Wiki can be.
Until something is confirmed from Hasbro I don't see why we need to get upset over what will and won't be released with the figure or the quality.

Anyway I expect it to be an exclusive. Mostly because we haven't seen any testshots or anything until right now, leading up to the convention. It reminds me very much of when the botcon 2005 figures were appearing on ebay, one after the other and everyone thought they would be universe figures (ironhide, ratchet, and the fem-bikes).
Although it would appear to be a very large (and expensive) exclusive for Botcon, I wouldn't throw it out of consideration. A Hot Rod figure would work well with the Springer and Ultra Maganus pictured on the TFCC comic...
Plus this is supposed to be the biggest botcon evaaarr!!!
I hope it's just a retail release though. It looks nice!!

I'm remaining optimistically cautious at this point until we see more or get confirmation from Hasbro. Until then anything can or likely may change with this figure including the paint scheme and accessories if it is in fact real. I'm still uncertain whether it is standard business practice for Hasbro to take pictures of prototypes or newly completed figures on flowery bed spreads or not.![]()
There are a few things I personally like to see changed before this figure gets a public release if it is real, but if we get exactly what we see, it won't be all bad. The GT mold is one of the best looking in my opinion so that's defintely a win, and the other good news is that we will be getting at least one more new Alt. Even if Hasbro just releases them one or two at a time, its still enough to appease the fans of the line and let's us know that Hasbro hasn't given up on an excellent series.
Insurgent wrote:First off, The flames are a great homage to G1. The stripes on Kiss look better, but G1 had flames and this is a nice homage. And they look su-weet!
Secondly, perhaps this is the missing #25 alt I've heard people mention. You know, the numbering for Ravage/Rumble go 24, 26 with no mention of 25. Perhaps the figure was held up for some reason and they have only now been able to get the go ahead for it. Just a thought.
