FWIW, Glenn Morshower's character in TF1 was named Col. Sharp (also the name of a major character in Bay's Armageddon). In ROTF, his character is named Morshower (oddly enough). Two different characters.

Its really hard for me to accept that the movie has a bunch of Air Force airmen, commandos, whatever, fighting to begin with. With a Marine Corps general running the show no less (who magically survived the first movies base attack even though it was stated everyone but Lennox's group died).

what? the Air Force has some of the best special forces in the military. and yes i can see were you could think that they are not the best soldiers, the air force trains its people to support aircraft for the most part. I recall Sadam Husane burying his fighters because The Air force beat them so bad the first time he fought the US in the gulf war.

Oh, I know the Air Force does have an elite fighting squad, but lets face it, the best of the best is Navy SEALs, followed by Marine Force Recon and Army Rangers or Special Forces (depending on which you talk too,
I appreciate that they kept the AF aspect that came from the G1 toon in affect though.

Great observation HHOR, I didn't pick up on that. Both the Armageddon reference and the name change. Touche' I stand corrected. Thanks.

I found this article where they confirm he plays two different characters:

Personally it really annoys me when movies or TV shows do this. Just get a new actor, how hard is that? It doesn't make sense to have the same person play two unrelated characters unless they're using a lot of make-up or something like Eddie Murphy or Mike Myers do.

I think its great that real army personel are used, makes me wonder if real NASA staff was used for Armageddon.
I knew I saw that guy die in the first film. That was on the list of plot holes...but now that I see he's just the same guy named differently, that just seems like lazy casting to me. Why not just bring back Keller? Or any of the other thousands of actors portrayed in the Pentagon or even Sector 7? Yes I know Sector 7 was shut down, even then when your hunting an alien race with other members of the alien race you would think it wise to keep on a few guys with some experience no? Hell Ed Harris from "The Rock" would have been great, though I heard his "Bay"sperience wasn't too fun.
Laters,
Josh
