"I have failed you, my master"?

Megatron was like frozen in the Artic for what, a few thousand years? Plus the extra few hundred year imprisoned in Hoover Dam. Roughly a total of 4000 years, then suddenly he went back to Nemesis and said "I have failed you my master"
Well, I was the Fallen, i'd be slapping his head for making me wait 4000 years. Megs was lucky The Fallen even remembered him after thousands of years.
I guess the writers forgotten about that.

Despite the 4000 years of MIA, Megatron was bent on looking for the Allspark. Now after regenerated, he seems to have been bent on finding the matrix? When did that happen? With no previous mention of the matrix at all in the timeline before TF the movie ended. Comic-wise or novel-wise.

Agreed. Technically, they aren't subject to decay like organic things. They just need Energon (and not get killed). And evidently, their consciousness does continue after death, at least with the higher Primes. The fact that those spirits can actively guide and then RESURRECT Sam or at least bring him back from the threshold makes them rather (read: too) powerful as individual sci-fi characters.
