Micheal Bay had mentioned that there would be lots of "unique robots" that are "other species" in the Transformers sequel. I'm wondering if these new robots are like Alternators Ravage. Ravage, like many other Transformers, has an alternate vehicle mode. But his robot mode is not humanoid. Instead, it resembles that of a cat.
So could these other species of robots Bay discusses be like Alternators Ravage and possess animal bodies that turn into vehicles, tanks, jets, etc. instead of humanoid bodies?
Maybe Ravage in this movie is like is Alternators form? He's a cat that transforms into a Jaguar car?

It would be awesome if Ravage was included as a partner to Soundwave...

Maybe even RatBat(guess what the mailman brought today)
But realy I don't know, Bay and the designers seem to want to push the designes as far as they can. I can speculate some new designes, but I just have a feeling that at this point I'd be proven wrong.
Two things that I keep taking into acount though are 1 Bay and crew are trying for new unique designs, and 2 Hasbro asked them to make the bots in TF2 alittle more traditional(it was a news thread that hit during the summer)
So much like I did for TF1, I'm gonna sit back and see where this ride takes me. I hope for the best, but am prepaired for the worst.

That would be cool if Ravage can become a part of Soundwave much like scorpinok was a part of Blackout, but have an alternate vehicle mode as well. But if it's a Jaguar car, Soundwave would have to be pretty large.

Well, I'd love to see Soundwave as some communications assault vehicle, maybe Ravage could be.... I have no clue

If the bots in TF2 are a little more traditional, that's going to look rather weird. These bots are going to look weird next to the already existing movie characters. Unless they tweak the movie characters somewhat to make them look more traditional, but I don't see how unless they want to make them somewhat unrecognizable.
I could see them tweaking something small like their faces a little bit, but a drastic change? I don't know.
Prime needs a better face. His mouth is way too close to his chin among other things. He could use a better looking face.

See I thought that too, but we know Prime at least is going to be in TF2, as well as BB. I think it safe to say that we wont be getting the same figures over again...
So just possibly the returning bots will have updated more relaxed modes, even going as far as to mimic humanoid faces. The new figures would be more willy nilly/experimental since they havent had time to upgrade to a more casual self.
Of course it's all speculation

from the original description of "unique' transformers that does sound like animal style Tfs could be a distinct posiblilty, I guess we will just have to wait and see beyond the speculation.

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

To be honest, I liked the movie designs just the way they are. I actually prefer their look to the more blocky G1 designs. Just my preference.
I think the Autobots at least are humanoid enough as it is. Their faces are fine for the most part. The only complaint I have is with Prime's face. His mouth is too low and his eyes look a bit weird. Just some minor facial tweaking and he'll look fine for the sequels. Especially if Elita One shows up. Hey, maybe that's the real reason why they gave Prime some lips!
