Shia LaBeouf, who stars in the Michael Bay Transformers movies as Sam Witwicky, is allegedly in trouble with the law again. According to an article on the website of the Thirty Mile Zone, LaBeouf was set to stand trial for a unlawful smoking misdemeanor in Burbank, LA. But neither he or his lawyer appeared in court. A $1,000 bench warrant was issued for Shia's arrest.

Yet another reason why california should not be a part of the US any more. Unlawful smoking? Its unlawful to smoke outdoors? Then it should be unlawful to friggin drive seeing as exhaust fumes are just as harmful to people.

Who said it was outdoors? Maybe it was somewhere inside.

Btw, can anyone elborate on how it works in the US for smokers? Is it legal to smoke in public rooms at all?

In the Netherlands these things are changing lately. (this summer it won't be permitted to smoke in restaurants/cafe's/disco's etc.

And, no I don't think Frankie Muniz should have been. I liked him in Malcolm in the Middle, but... just doesn't seem like a Sam/Spike to me. You must be seeing something I don't.

Shia skipped his court case, so he deserves the trouble he's in in that aspect, but...

Unlawful smoking? Are you kidding me? Thats absured! Last I checked this was America not Soviet Russia! This new "prohibition" is getting way out of control. Its bullshit that I can no longer have a ciggerette after a nice meal when I go out to eat anymore. And its bullshit that my last year of school I had to walk out to my car! and its bullshit that at my own job they lock us in the building and won't let us smoke! I am a smoker and I'm sick of this ****. A smoker is only hurting their own body, people need to get off their high horse. I understand the risks of second hand smoke indoors, thats why it SHOULDN'T be a problem for restaraunts to be allowed to provide a seperated smoking section. But outdoors?

oh yeah and its bullshit that I went from paying $2.75 a pack to $400 last summer!

lol! Trouble again?! It must be from the influence of that Indiana Jones movie. Just cuz he plays a "badass" in the movie, he really thinks he is one.

But unfortunately, I do have to care... Cuz without him, TF 2 may be delayed. UNLESS, they fast forwarded into the future, and we get a older Sam in the movie. So no more need for LaBeouf.

I do hope he doesn't get himself in toooo much trouble. Cuz that court fine... pfft... after TF box office took off. I bet that money is just chump change. ; )

A Benchmark warrant means (as far as I know) that the resources taken by the police force to make the arrest arrest may exceed the standard cost up to the amount set by the judge. In this case, up to a 1000 dollars. Of course, if Shia is caught or does turn himself in, guess who will pay any of the used this benchmarked resource? Of course, he can easilly afford it these days.

I am all down with the smoking ban and everything, but to me this seems nothing more than being equivalent to a parking ticket. Its still an offense but should only be a minor one.
