Not sure which forum this should be posted in, so I picked this one.
Anyway, there are 2 toys in particular which I really want to like, but in their present state they're just a bit...iffy. I was wondering if anyone knew of any upgrade kits/easy fixes/conversions/part swaps or whatever that could be done to make them better.
The first is Movie Thundercracker (the one based on the 2007 Movie Voyager Starscream). He's a good toy and has a decent robot mode, but his arms are basically giant cylinders with giant finger missiles, and his jet mode is terrible (largely thanks to said same arms). Basically, he needs a change of arms. Are there any 3rd-party replacements available for them that gives him proper hands and a less cluttered jet mode? Or are there any arms that could be easily switched from another figure onto him to improve him? Aside from his arms and jet mode I really like him, so I don't want to completely replace him.
The second is Airachnid, who I don't actually own but is pegwarming something chronic in my local toy store. Fembots are always welcome in my collection, but Airachnid is just...bad. Terrile articulation and once again, dreadful arms, although this time the problem is that they're too small. The hindered legs (which actually look quite nice) could be fixed easily by trimming away the plastic at the hips/pelvis, and I know there are other areas that can be greatly freed up with a bit of trimming without sacrificing the alt mode, but those arms/hands...Are there any decent 3rd party replacements, or any other arms from other figures that would replace them well? Also, whilst it doesn't bother me as much, are there any alternatives to the weedy rotor/leg assembly they gave her? There's so many of her on clearance and I'm desperate to save her from total crapness and make her a respectable decptifemme.
