While I'm open to be wrong, this would be the first time they had a Titan Class toy at that level of production (painted prototype) when that meeting leaked. Other ones at the same point were grey prototypes

What they're willing to tease us with in October and what they actually have on hand are likely two entirely different things. They aren't likely to separate Prdaking's hand painted wings from the rest of the hand painted set just for a teaser, they're going to bring the gray model wings or the gray model Trypticon leg or the gray model Zarak, the painted stuff is staying together. We've also had cases where Takara Tomy shows a gray model at a live event and then it appears hand painted in a magazine a week later, but you know those magazine photos were taken weeks before the live event.
It doesn't take much more than a little comparison to tell that the Metroplex in the picture isn't the same as the original. The axe being able to split in half is the most obvious difference and I'm not aware of any KOs currently being made.

Oh, as the big Cybertron fan and Cyb Metroplex owner I am I could easily tell it wasn't the original - Sparkdrinker's bucket wheel has way more buckets (and annoyingly doesn't show any sign of where it might split in two to form a proper axehead) plus there are those big handles on the haft, in addition to the already-mentioned splitting at the middle of the haft. I can also tell that the forearms are different, proportions of some things are different, the original's leg hollows aren't there, and of course the ankle tilts.
But none of that entirely precludes it being some sort of mockup, so my inner cynic refuses to 100% accept it until we hear more.

So I've had a few figures in I forgot to mention in the haul thread, so I'll post about them here as they're all Kingdom figures. I got Huffer, Slammer and Wingfinger in recently, and I'm expecting Pipes today.
Huffer I was really worried about, as I'd heard all sorts of horror stories about his truck mode not lining up. However I must have gotten very lucky as mine is pretty straight in vehicle mode. In any event I really rather like him, his robot mode is fantastic (love the Spartan laser weapon) and his vehicle mode does look cute, especially with the dump bed on the back. Looking forwards to Pipes.
Wingfinger I was expecting to regret, as I only bought her (I maintain she and Paleotrex are girls) as she was £15 shipped from Smyths. In hand though she's really quite good. Very expressive, really cool beast mode, and I've gotten some pretty cool weapon modes out of her. Also I've managed to put together a rather nice centauroid combined mode from the three Fossilizers. I'd rank her slightly below Paleotrex but above Ractonite.
Slammer is great, though his tolerances are a bit iffy in places. He makes a wonderful Autobot grunt, and I LOVE the chainsaw weapon you can make from his treads. He makes a cool buddy to Warpath too.

Do excuse the double post.
I am beyond hyped for this guy, he might be the first Titan I actually get. Though part of me wishes he'd get a redeco coloured like Engels from Nier: Automata.

Agreed 100%. Not sure what colours I'd go for but I can imagine the old High Moon games providing some inspiration, the generics in that were very cool.
Also got Pipes in today. He's basically a slightly better-toleranced, blue Huffer with slightly less cool accessories. I like him and am glad to have both (I adore the Animated depictions of them as sanitation workers, even aside from the obvious Mario joke) but I don't think you need both. Though I will say I kinda wish they'd engineered in the cab swivel from Pipes in from the beginning, as having the option (and added wiggle for transformation should you need it) wouldn't have negatively impacted Huffer at all.

The Maximal shelf of my main collection display is finally complete:

I have Skywarp II as well, but he's not part of the main display. It would be nice if new toys of Depth Charge and Fuzor Silverbolt come out at some point, but I'm not holding my breath for them. I also got a shippng notice for Terrorsaur today, so my Predacon shelf is getting close to done too.

Seeing him in black and dark gray would also be amusing, given what everybody's been memeing him as. Although that might have to be a custom.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:As the last Core Class figure from Kingdom, Hot Rod ends not only the Class on a high note but the whole of the Kingdom line. Transformation is involved but intuitive, much like Core Class Starscream. I should mention that like most Core sized car Transformers, the ease of Hot Rod's transformation will factor on how tight the ball joints are, as that can make things easier or harder. Overall, Hot Rod is a fine figure and a great addition to your Core Class collection.

Nice, remarkable conversion complexity for such a small figure.

Profit margins. As the cost of manufacturing goes up (raw materials, labour etc) companies can either absorb the costs (thus taking a hit to profit) or roll with it and cut back on costs (using less materials etc) and/or raising prices.

I have a link to the Listing, but no pre-orders and a 3rd party seller is the only one currently selling at a ridiculous markup for a figure that is about to hit retail.
https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Toy ... C77&sr=8-7
You should at least be able to put it in your watch list and wait for Amazon to get some in stock.

From everything we've seen, he's still the same "Pocket-size but too big to be used with the older pocket-size versions of characters" that the Legends class became circa 2013 and continues to be when used for pocket-size versions of characters instead of as a replacement for the old Basic/Scout class.

You know, I'm actually very curious how the parts count differs between CW Legends Hot Rod and Kingdom Core Hot Rod because I feel like the Kingdom figure is much more complex. And for basically the same price since most major retailers haven't taken these past the $10 mark yet.

What probably helps is that Legacy Hot Rod uses two molds instead of CW's three:
CW
Mold 1: Wheels, shoulder hinges
Mold 2: Car shell (incl. lower legs), main hinge
Mold 3: Back, upper legs, head, weapon
Legacy
Mold 1: Wheels
Mold 2: everything else (all the orange looks to be paint)
Not counting the weapon for Legacy here, on the suspicion it's separate from the main tooling.

I'm a bit late to the party on getting optimus primal but the Netflix pack was discounted and I was mainly after rattrap. The chest gap on primal is just bad
the lack of some articulation on the arms due to the shoulder and the fugly elbow joints even worse. Shame kingdoms beast wars characters really have failed for the most part.
Rattrap was more fiddly than I expected and the rear legs feel loose when putting into beast mode. Bot mode he his nice if a bit too small for my liking but will have to do until I find the t30 version. Think I'm skipping packrat now though so it saves on that at least.
