So apparently people have problems ... so do we need to have a discussion?

Customs - Do we post them in this thread? (Customs should also be posted to the appropriate Transtopia forums to ensure they get featured in the Creative Round-Up.)
3rd Party - Do we post them in this thread or do we set up a similar thread in the 3rd party forum?

Any other issues? Feel free to comment and contribute to the discussion, if you'd prefer you can pm it to me to avoid cluttering the thread up.

Of course if you're not going to add to the discussion, then you give up all rights to complain about any possible changes.

Why go to multiple threads when just one will do? I mean is it that big a deal for cool pics of any kind to be posted here? If it is can we just make a rival thread for pics of any kind?

I think what we're doing right now is pretty much acceptable.

3rd Party Figures: Allowed. I would introduce the caveat that as soon as the usual trouble with them starts that they be separated into a new thread. Just a little warning.
Customs: Maybe one or two pics, with the full set in a link.

What I have noticed is that some pictures are used mainly for "showing off", while the basic premise used to be "humorous" or "awesome poses". Just throwing that out.

So long as customs end up in the transtopia forums as well I see no reason not to double dip them here. As for third party items, while I am aware it's a touchy subject around here I also don't see a reason why not to, as this topic already exists exclusive of the transtopia photo forums. I'd say if you're gonna bring this thread down for anything you could bring it down for that first, and even then it just seems petty.

As others have said, I'm happy with how it's going.
Third party photos are fine, especially if the photography is of the atandarfs I've seen in here. Maybe not use up all the thread just for them though. And link to athread in the appropriate forums for discussions and reviews.

As for customs, I agree with a couple of picks, again with a link to the relevant thread in the review section.

JelZe, do you think it's an issue to have the high quality show off photos alongside the sillier ones?

As long as the "show-off" ones don't outnumber the sillier ones, I'm cool. That's just me tho, just made an observation, is all.

So this is good news that common sense is prevailing, then. I think it would be a mistake to start prohibiting certain items. Where would you draw the line? Reprolabels? OK or not OK? The list goes on and starts with that. This is a fun thread, let's keep it that way.

for me personally, am ok with the way things are. if we have to draw the line on 3rd party and custom figs, then there's no way of posting an official product togather with unofficial ones?

but like mentioned before, shouldn't cluttered the thread with let say step-by-step pics of custom, etc. and quite frankly, I think everyone else enjoyed the thread so far

my 2 cents (which converted to USD to be around less than 1 cent)

This is what I was going to mention. If I ever get around to it I'll be taking some pics of my first and second year Classics Decepticons, seeing as I completed them last year, and if 3P/Customs required separate threads then that'd be a pain.

Personally, I would like to see a similar thread going on in the non-TF toy forum, where anything goes. It would be a way to give some trafic to the other boards.

As for this here thread, this board is supposed to be about the official products. There's so much official toys to show. Also, many newcomers will find something awesome only to learn that it's not a "real TF but a 3rd party product that is impossible to find. When one show off a custom, it's more self-promotion than actual "cool poses". I can understan because there's not much trafic on the customs forums.

The best compromise would be for each pictures to at least feature ONE official toy. The official toy could be with anything, from 3rd party, to custom, to random stuff. No need for "obligatory official toy in the shot". Just be creative and make the non-TF toy or custom fight an official

I have no problems with the way the thread is going. Customs, 3rd party......it's all good. Just as long as the thread is active and interesting is all that matters to me.
Any contributions are welcome in my opinion.

Im not sure why all the fuss is happening in this thread, but surely it does what it says on the can?
An 'Awesome Picture' or 'Pose' can obviously apply to an official Transformer, customized Transformer, KO or 3rd Party figure.

I have two cabinets full of official/customs/KOs/3P in 'Poses' which look 'Awesome' and I like to take 'Pictures' of them and post them here for all to see.
I love to see all the Seibertronians latest additions to their collection or a cool 3P/custom posed to full effect!

Some of us have access and technical know how to create a stunning image of their favourite figure whilst others offer a meagre mobile phone shot, all of which lead to the best of our respective abilities in presenting a snapshot of our collection. :-B

Now that's got me thinking ... because after all these years I still suck at taking photos.

Would any of our more experienced contributors be interested in sharing their knowledge (in a separate thread so it doesn't get lost in here)?

Might be able to turn it into a Transtopia Feature. (Look Va'al! I have more ideas!)

I'm sure someone posted an article on taking photos before, it may have even been Ryan himself? Not that I can be bothered to look, so sorry. Anyhoo, I recommend a light tent, a light source other than an on-board flash and a steady hand. If you are serious, then a SLR with a macro lens.
