Oh man that looks perfect! I was rewatching the cartoon and I realized how much smaller the sweeps are from Galvatron and Cyclonus so this scale is just perfect.

Thanks guys.
I'm so on board now, can't wait to have the other Headmasters. I was worried that it was getting out of hand but seeing how small they are (compared to the MP line) it's fine.
Really want a new deluxe-size cartoon-accurate Optimus Prime to go with them. And Hasbro's Cerebros.

Seeing all those pix of Galvatron and his entourage kind of makes me want the entire Rebirth cast.
Good thing for me that everyeone is Headmasters and Combiners, makes it easier to skip.

Haven't set up a table for taking pics in my office yet so this will have to do. More or less my entire Combiner Wars collection.

Most are basic configurations of classic teams, but I have a few oddballs in there.
My version of Galvatronus with modified drone limbs made from Vortex is hanging out in the middle. I've posted him before so I won't clog up the board with too many duplicate images.
Optimus in the back with some of his most trusted companions-Ironhide, Prowl, Wheeljack, and Mirage. Nothing to write home about, basically a leftover limb collector
I'm pretty happy with my approximation of Sky Reign as shown in the comics considering I only worked with what I had on hand without buying any extras to accomplish it.
I attached Cosmos to Hound to act as Cosmos(obviously) which I feel works pretty well. The blue arm is supposed to be Thundercracker, the colors work but that's about it. The black leg should be Slugslinger but I don't have any spare jets so it's mostly an attempt at obscuring any detail. Sunstreaker is spot on though!
For reference-

I've since covered the racing number and wheels on "Thundercracker" with Sky Lynx's swords but uploading is a pain in the butt right now for some reason, so just trust it looks ever so slightly better haha. Heck, it might even pass for wings if the swords were blue.

I put the combiners away and set up Fort Max in my preferred basemode. I tried the leg towers and some other cool configurations but they started making me nervous and I didn't want to break anything.

If the pic is too small you can right click>view image to get a bigger version.
I have another Micromaster base and some ramps at my mom's somewhere that I'll have to dig out sometime. I know the ramps aren't compatible but it'd be nice for the firetruck to be able to get down from the station haha.

Nice shots Mr Skram!! Did you end up going all in on Combiner Wars? I sorta kinda regret that I didn't. Also, Fort Max and the Micromasters look great!

Not quite all in. I passed on Legends Wreck Gar and both classes of seekers(except Leader 'Cracker who I got at a great price), and the first Scattershot. I couldn't find Viper anywhere, and I waited too long to decide that I needed Quickslinger and Wildrider unfortunately. Victorion is still a maybe and I have yet to grab Deluxe Groove. So I think that makes it 16 figures in total that I don't have, not counting G2 deco sets.
I'm happy with the line with a few gripes here and there. I'm gonna probably pick up most of TR as well aside from the Optimus figures. I already have too many Primes around and they get hard to place on shelves cohesively after awhile.

I've been rather inactive on these forums for quite a while. (And, for the one or two people who followed it, also inactive on my own review website.) Something I really must make an effort to change. And a rather large package I got in the mail yesterday is getting the ol' juices flowing again. But before I get to that, a comment based on an image I saw a few pages back...

Anyway, in reply to the following:
I say, "I do!"

Hanging out with a few friends.

I like big bots, and I cannot lie.
I'm not going to say Fort Max is the perfect figure... But I will say that it is a purchase I do not find myself regretting one bit!

Just so you know, your review on Six Sigma pushed me over the edge to buy him. Love that figure. And the ReproLabels for Metroplex! Currently, I'm patiently waiting for my Takara Fortress Maximus. Big bots are where it's at! Great pictures, and welcome back!!

I was definitely debating for a bit which Fort Max I would go with. I wasn't feeling the US retail version. The coloring was a bit bland in some areas, like the upper chest being too grey (I really felt it needed the white to help break it up) and the belly being just a solid chunk of blue. Also, I wanted the freaking sword!
The Takara one was tempting. It had the sword. It had the face for Cerebros which, while not a deal breaker to not have, I did like better. But, while not something I'm always turned off by (see my choice of Defensor in the photo in my previous post), I was a bit put off by some of the color choices in the name of cartoon accuracy, which, again, led to parts of the figure looking a bit bland. Also, the huge price difference (about $100) above the U.S. retail version was a bit unpleasant to consider.
So in the end, when I saw that I could get the SDCC version, I jumped on it. It seemed to combine what I liked from the US retail and Takara versions into one figure. And, after tax and shipping, only came out about $50 more than the US retail version. And considering that a third party sword would have set me back $35, that makes that difference seem much more bearable.
Now I just need a third party gun, which Perfect Effect seems to have announced, and a third party Gasket and Grommet, which hopefully someone will announce soon...

After my earlier post, I wanted to see Metroplex and Fort Max together in another mode. And so this happened:

Makes for one hell of a city complex! It was also fun finding places, between the two city-bots, to stick all of the guns formed by the Perfect Effect hands & feet I have for Superion and Defensor. (Be a bit trickier once Computron is added to the mix, as well!)
I suppose, if not tonight, then tomorrow I'll have to get them both into their third mode.
