Which scene was that? I don't remember it.

Where Sam saw Bumblebee transform for the first time, after he thought his car was stolen. The night that Bumblebee sent the light signal into space alerting the other Autobots.

The police arrested him, and then interrogated him.

The scene actually fit and does work.

1.) Sam broke into the train yard (he obviously wasn't supposed to be there. It had a fence and everything, not to mention guard dogs.)

2.) He reported his car stolen, and called 911 to do it (big no no).

3.) He was carrying the dog's pain pills in his pocket (which to any cop, would look like drugs).

4.) He was ranting about his car transforming and standing up.

Too many people want to chop the movie up, remove the human element, but then they'd be left with nothing of a film. Oh sure, the TF scenes are definitely the sweet spot of the film, but they alone cannot carry the film. It would be senseless and just one giant battle/chase scene right after another.

Granted, the movie could've focused on the TFs a tad bit more than it did (this is not Bay's fault, this was in the script and the screenplay, he merely shot it all.) but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the film as it is.

Perfect? No, of course not.
Disastrous? No.

Ah, right. I really don't remember the police showing up. Why is dialling 911 to report a stolen car a no-no?

I'm not saying it was disastrous at all, in fact I enjoyed the movie. I guess the more times you see it, or any movie for that matter, you start to pick it apart.

As far as the interigation scene, ok trespassing, I get. But Sam's dad was there and didn't pipe up when the cop berated him. And the whole "You eyein' my peice 50 cent" bit got on my nerves when I first saw the movie.

But as far as Bay's involvment with the DVD, he was on there enough, and seein' him interveiwed for the extras and all the stuff he has said and done after the movies release, yeah he's a pompus douche bag. Now I kinda wish he'd have stuck to his guns over the whole blu ray fiasco and not come back to do TF2.

911 is for emergency management services only. Granted, having your car stolen is an emergency...to you. Not to the police. They have procedures, paperwork to file, information to be recorded, etc, etc. They expect you to go through the paces, etc.

Now, if your car is stolen during a carjacking and you call 911...that is a car theft emergency.

The EMS (Emergency Management Services) are very touchy about it. Which is understandable. It costs money for every call. The computers, systems, and lines are tied up for the duration of an unimportant call, all while a real emergency may be taking place.

My home town though...*sighs* most of the police stations (except the State Police barracks) close at midnight, and they used to be able to come and unlock your door for you if need be (depending on the model, and proof of identification, etc.) Well, they stopped doing that for the most part, and past a certain point at night, all you can do is get a hold of 911 services, but you have to make it clear that it's a non-emergency call that you're making. You have to agree that you'd be willing to testify in a court of law if this call your making would end up in court somehow, etc, etc. A bunch of hoops, tied up emergency lines...and all because the cops won't do their friggin' job.

I see. Over here, when my girlfriend's car was broken into (not stolen) we called 999 and they were fine about it. Interesting to know, anyhow.

I love how everyone slams Bay but noone ever mentions Spielbergs involvment, lol. Bay just directed.

There was Spielbergs touch all over that movie, especially the capture of E.T., er,...Bumblebee.

The 50 cent comment, and Mojo the drug addict dog are all just humor. There was alot of humor in the movie, it helps to balance out all the destruction I imagine.

Good film, dvd could have been better special features wise, and I don't think anyone cares that Bay, "Has the number to the Pentagon."

indeed. they could have gotten rid of the movie altogether. stupid movie.

(edit to include Spielberg ridicule)

"it's the story about a boy and his car" and this hot chick... and masturbation jokes, and suburban sprawl, and how great the military is, and how robots pee, and how much i wish i could remake all of Kubrick's movies- The Shining really needs a happy ending- why couldn't they just all go skiing together? I really think the Shining is a story about a dad and his typewriter.

TF1 was fine. Anyone who complains about it not being to their standards needs to get a life, and stop expecting oscar-winning, genre defining material from a summer blockbuster movie about robots based on freaking toys! :-x

Yup, it's just as much Spielberg's fault. Spielberg as the producer should have the final say on the DVD production. He also keeps applauding Bay and saying he was the perfect director for the movie.

However, people are often critical of Bay because he keeps putting his face into the media light and saying one of two things- he is making an unbelievable movie; or someone/something is preventing him from making his unbelievable movie.

QFT FTW!

Aside from the fact most of the bonus features blew chunks, Bays mug was plastered all over the damned place on disc 2. A way to make the DVD set better would've been to focus on the TFs, not Bay's love affair with the military or how they made sure they cast "hotties" regardless of acting ability. And, I don't know about you guys, but I can sleep better tonight knowing that an easter egg showed me they properly cast a friggin' chihuahua in a Transformers movie. UGH! :-x

Yeah I enjoyed watching the behind the scenes stuff, but I agree for the extra $15 it cost it wasn't worth it, especially for something I'll never watch again. Like i said in other threads, where the hell did "special edition" come from anyway? Typically when that word is used it is referred to an old movie that was already released on DVD when DVD's came out, and now its re-released packed with special features: new movies are just SUPPOSED to have special features PERIOD!

I bought Spiderman 1 "special edition version" with 2 discs, almost 8 hours of content, for $11.99 when it came out from best buy. Spiderman 2 was about the same. I have the special edition Jay and Silent Bob movie, and it was a bit pricey at $20 but it was worth it with 40 deleted scenes, interviews, behind the scenses, music videos, and a **** ton of easter eggs! Honestly for what you get with the TF DVD a warning to all those who go out to buy it, BUY THE STANDARD DVD!

Ok, calm down there. I've always stated I enjoyed the movie. Yeah, it wasn't perfect, but it was good. It's the DVD extras I got a problem with. The scenes I bitched about, I've been bitchin' about them since I saw it in theaters. But let's face it, asides from the little bit of Hasbro stuff and interviews with the animators, the bonus content was severely lacking. It was all basically Bayfest, and how great a director he is supposed to be able to work for and his love affair with the military.

Actually...i know we have to wait for it for another month but the two disc version wont go any higher then £20 over here, we probably wont even see a single disc version since that doesnt happen so often in this country and we usually just have the 2-disc versions straight off the bat. Im surprised you guys have to pay so much extra for a 2-disc version. When i lived in the states a few years back 2-disc dvd's where never that expensive.

Id be pissed if i had to pay £40 just for a 2-disc set, but like i said that wont happen here and the 2-disc set will more than likely be the norm here and only cost around £16 or £18. (no 2-disc regular dvd usually costs more than £20)

Now that i got the DVD, i find the movie... quite boring. I would constantly press the forward and skip buttons. I end up watching only about 15 to 20 minutes of the movie. Just once. I'll try to watch it again sometime in the future.

The great effects on the big screen, (which got me to watch the movie 6 times) is close to nothing on a 29" tv screen. Without the impact of these great effects, this movie is really boring. No real solid story to fall back on. Except for Shia and John Voit (forgot the spelling), the rest of the cast offers mediocre acting too.

Unlike the old 1986 cartoon movie, i've watched it hundreds of times, probably thousands, from 1986 to the present. And i still don't get to skip any scenes.

Sorry, guys. I'm pretty much disappointed.
