First-Aid wrote:I've been giving this sequel thing a lot of thought and had some ideas on what they may do with it.
1. The Allspark did initially destroy Megatron's spark, but over time it also regenerated it and merged with him, giving him limited power to create new TF's. The new power is stored in a device in his chest he calls "The Matrix". Once the Autobots discover this, Prime attempts the merger with the remaining shard of the Allspark in his possession. However it fails, forcing them into a direct confrontation for possession of the Matrix.
2. When Megatron followed the Allspark into space, a team of powerful Autobot commandoes- the Dynobots- followed him. They too had problems with the magnetic field of Earth and crashed. They are eventually uncovered by an archeological dig in Utah. Not satisfied scanning the puny vehicles the humans have onsite, they scan into the ground discovered the remains of several dinosaurs and thus are reborn.
3. Scorponok, after his defeat at the hands of the humans, has been in hiding and biding his time. He manages to learn where the 'Cons remains are deposited and eventually links up with Starscream- who has returned with revenge on his mind. The new 'Con commander has brought with some new friends- more than likely the Constructicons- in order to fortify their position on Earth. They rescue and rebuild the damaged 'Cons (who were in fact in stasis lock and not deceased as believed) except Megatron, who Starscream buries in the deep so that he alone may lead. Megs of course comes back to life with the help of the Allspark that has merged with him and the power struggle continues.
4. The "radiation" previously detected by the humans- now called "energon" because of its ability to "energize" inanimate mechanical objects- is identified by Ratchet and a team of human scientists as a form of atom-sized nanomachines. These nanomachines are able to rebuild metal allows by breaking down atoms of any substance and reassembling them into the desired pattern. Ratchet concludes that the Allspark is slowly rebuilding itself, leading to a new race for the Allspark- which is in Sam's possession again; it seems that he had asked for a piece of the Allspark as a souvenir/reminder of the first battle. This also leads to the assumption that Megatron may not be dead.
5. Once the Dyno/Dinobots are reborn, a conflict brews between their leader- Grimlock- and Prime. It seems that Grimlock was passed up for command of the Autobots and he is still nursing a grudge against Optimus. This leads him to a major tactical blunder in a decisive battle, forcing introspective review of himself and his priorities. Grimlock also suffers from speech problems due to a remaining glitch in his system from a previous battle with Megatron.
I think I have too much time on my hands, but I'm curious to hear other thoughts on the topic.
i like #2Cinema_Major wrote:One of the writers for Transformers hinted that what happened to Barricade was "robots in disguise"....so theres your hint.
Two theories here........
1. Barricade saved his own ass by hiding and maybe taking a different vehicle mode.
2. Barricade is an autobot spy who had to keep up the appearance for 90% of the movie to convince the decepticons and Frenzy mostly... Maybe Prowl??? Makes sense, Prime said a new discovery lead them to Earth..... and a spy would be a perfect way to find out where the decepticons were headed.
Spark Light wrote:Bay should not direct TF2. He didn't even like the source material after making this movie, he only likes "His" Transformers. That's a very dangerous thing indeed. He said he couldn't sit through he first 10 minutes of the '86 movie - however crap the rest of that movie was, or the rest of G1 movie, the first half hour of that movie was sheer Transformers awesomeness. If you don't get that, you shouldn't be making a movie based on it.

The public seemed to like his Transformers too.
And you misunderstand the "fans can't make the movie" idea. The point is that it's futile to try and listen to fan demands, because there is no unified front on what fans will want. You can't please all the people all the time, and it's impossible to make something all the fans will like.

Bringing in the dinobots wouldnt be right, and if Bay didnt like the old transformers then hes not gonna put in the dinobots.. Plus just imagine giant robots fighting...then WTF giant robotic dinosaurs rush in?!?!?!?!?! It just wouldnt make sense in the movie, it would be like a Transformers Jurrasic Park.....

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

I would like to see more charecter development especially with the cons. and less trash can looking robots especially during the fight scenes.

Actually, that's an interesting point...I would have liked to see more far out shots of the fighting. However, I'd wager that's kind of how they kept the budget low. With a sequel and a larger budget, we should see more of those giant-robot-wrestling and blasting each other scenes like Bonecrusher vs. Optimus in the first one. It also should reduce the human interaction in the movie.
