Can't say I absolutely love the fig, but this Takara one does look damn nice. But I busted out the Universe release this afternoon and also decided I can't really justify buying it again...especially at the inflated price. I'll just have to be jealous of all y'all that are getting it.

I'm happy with the Universe version. Can't justify the expense of another copy of that mold, especially with BotCon right around the corner.

Does Tommy+Takara have a habit of shipping the figure with batteries installed? I'm going to keep this Unicron MISB since I already have all the other versions. I hate to think that I would have to open this one to remove the batteries to prevent corrosion. Glad I got my preorder in with BBTS btw. Altho I might cancel my preorder later, I'm not sure about paying $140 for a $50 figure stateside.

Unicron uses 2 sets of button cell type batteries (one for the head, the other for the hand), those are always included. Now that I think about it, Takara also had a habit of removing electronics whenever possible.

Damn! Here I wanted to wait to get this with something else so it would not ship alone. Well hopefully TF Source gets more pre-orders up soon and if they do I hope it's before this Friday because that's when I'm leaving for Florida to go on a cruise then after that staying with family for a few weeks and I have no idea when I'll get the chance to get on a computer oh how I need to get myself a smart phone.

If Hasbro releases it, I'd probably get it. Even though I don't have enough room to put my second Unicron on display ... what the Hell, right? Unnessasary purchases are what this hobby's all about!

Don't count on Hasbro releasing this one again after the Universe version...and here's why:

2010 is Japan's campaign. There were technically a year behind us when TF came out. You got your chance to get Unicron again in 08/09 but I don't think they will do it again.
