What are some Transformers characters (from any continuity) who have alternate decos that you actually like better than the originals?

For example, my #1 pick would be Energon Unicron, in all his black, orange and green glory. Seriously, if they made HasLab Unicron with that deco and level of paint detailing I'd be tempted to buy it.

Powerlinx Armada Optimus Prime looks pretty cool

I also like orange and silver color scheme Grimlock used around 2014

I wouldnt mind seeing those colors more often.

He may not be "iconic", but I'm quite partial to Smokescreen's blue and yellow deco from alternators and Prime: Beast Hunters. Personally, I think the latter wore it better.

Eh, Powerlinx Optimus' deco looks too "bad guy"-ish. Probably why the show delayed using it until prety much the last possible minute, and even then didn't stick with it.

I do love me the G2 redecoes. There's also Cybertron Thundercracker and Skywarp:

I mean, even if you don't like neon green it's hard to not like G2 Sideswipe. The reversing of black and red is both simple and striking.

Then there's Universe Acid storm, shedding the bright, solid green of his original pallet in favor of something far more interesting.

G2 Bumblebee, the gold is very snazzy, and it's a gold figure you don't need to worry about gps!

All the diaclone hoists/trailbreakers, yellow, blue, red. I'd be happy with the figure in any colour. Dunno if he was ever going to be given a G2 scheme but I think he could have pulled off hot pink if he needed to.

Optimus colored Optimal Optimus as well, would have liked to have seen it in a none chrome version and wondering if Selects will ever revisit it, despite me preffering the original toy over the POTP.

Dunno if that count but Rodimus Prime in EVIL colors work surprisingly well.

I love my Rodimus Unicronus way better than the original.

MP G2 Sideswipe is possibly one of my favourite TF toys ever. Even aside from the EXTREEEEEEEEEME weapons and face, the colours, as you say, just pop. And I'd totally have preferred it if the Siege Rainmakers were done like that instead of the flat colours we got.

Black Pants Optimus.

It works so well. With all ton of Prime repaints we're geeting each year, I don't understand why this deco hasn't came back since 2006.

Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator. Transmetals all had whackier colors which looked nothing like their previous form, but this Waspinator manage to both have this going on and being more accurate to the color you expect of the altmode, being yellow rather than green.

I wish green Optimus had taken hold. Multiple toys like this for Beast Hunters for no particular reason, then just nothing.

There's always the budget Cyberverse sized one! Although that was in the Beast Hunters alt mode and not the Season 1/2 one like the Weaponizer.

No longer "budget" since now it's only on Ebay. Their Global Shipping Program is always a deal-killer.

Speaking of Beast Hunters, this Target Exclusive set is amazing and I still have it to this day:

Bought it in store at the time.
Still sad that Target didn't work out in Canada.

I kinda wish I'd gotten that version, but I do love my TM Waspinator. He's a really cool toy.

Im surprised no-one has mentioned this for the recolor Cybertron Wheeljack into Movie Big Daddy

Gotta dig those flames. I wish i had one but i have the green Downshift mold.

I think we're going more for same-character redecos, or legacy characters in new molds but unorthodox colors. Cybertron Downshift, as a Wheeljack homage, fits the latter quite nicely.
