Blackout

Post all your customized Transformers here. Whether it's a small mod or a true kitbash, we'd love to see it!

Tastysweet. 8)

The only thing that bugs me is the hockey mask. I got the impression you were actually going to mod the Bionicle head, rather than add a mask. I think it would've had a far closer resemblance then.

Gorgeous stuff, though.

Modding the head ITSELF proved to be more difficult then I thought, and when I was digging around for other options I found that mask. Yeah, sure, it sucks now, but with a few (heavy) modificiations, it'll (hopefully) resemble Blackout quite a bit more. :)

Unfortunately, it isn't. But I DO have those Lego lightblocks (translucent blocks that can lightup and which have translucent cords (they were used in Exo-Force's first wave)), so I'll try to do something with that. :)

Gentlemen...I present to you, a fully assembled Blackout that only needs painting. 8)

Now comes the sweet stuff. First off, WEAPONS, starting with a removeable gattling gun, for all your soldier shredding needs:

Image

Next we got the always handy missile pods, equipped with an articulated launcher base:

Image

Image

Second, I have a neat little extra: New feet, which has all kinds of moveable part all over the place ("toes" can move, forgot to take pictures of that). :D

And last but not least, a gimmick.

Oops, my bad! Forgot to turn the light on.

Hope you guys like it. :D

Few more pics of a touched up head (smaller crest), legs that are a bit more covered up to hide the Lego parts, and finally something sweet: "transforming" weapons! :D

I have to admit I wasn't all that impressed with this when you first started the project, but now that I've seen it develop......Dammmn!

I honestly had to go back and take a second look at all the pics and try to figure out just where in left field this guy came from. This is trully a work of art. Possibly your best work so far.

I'm really looking forward to future updates.

Yeah, was surprised a bit with that as well. It really did turn out much better then I dared to think when I started it. :D

I too am surprised at how well this turned out. It seems as though it was a good thing your Bruticus fell apart so this guy could be born!

Agreed. Besides, I like this one a LOT more. If I'd have to, I'd topple my Bruticus over again but this time on purpose, just so I get to make it for a second time. 8)

Alright, maybe not. Assembling this was a PIA. It was worth it, though, but I still won't be making a(ny) replica(s). :P

Incredible. Frankly for all the detail on it, I don't think many people would care if it's an Action Master. Transforming would be a killer bonus, but it's gorgeous without.

So, Ra... any ideas what you're gonna make when this nosedives?

Are you freaking kidding me? I'm gonna bolt this thing down to the shelf when I come back from Transformations. :P

You know, I'm also thinking of giving this thing a base. About 40-60cm wide, 25-30cm deep, and littered with (fake) sand, a broken tank and several maimed and fighting soldiers. Oh, and maybe a large tower and those fake smokes. Would be cool, though I have no idea on how to do it.
EDIT: Oh yeah, need to get Scorponok for that as well. But I'm picking him up regardless, for obvious reasons. :P

Yeah, where did the SM Classics Beetle bit come from? :?

Oh yeah, he's been painted (sorry for the lack of quality up close, my little brother took my camera with him on the schooltrip to London):

Only need to do a few extra touchups, like random wiring, decals and what else I'll think off.

too bad. I loved the all black version (after all, it is his name). You know, the whole stealth look just fit him well. Plus, I liked the shiny smoothness of it. Looked fresh off the assembly line. Still looks amazing, but I'm just going to keep the last few pics as the way I remember the bash.

Yeah, liked it as well. Then again, uni-color prototypes always look better then the finished product. :P
