I had no idea until looking into G1 Metroplex's parts, Cary -- apparently he was "revised" later to have plastic wheels and silver stickers for his legs (instead of the actual chrome).

I looked it up and I must have had the revised mold. I sorta remember his legs being chromed, but that was quite a few years ago.

What do you guys think of the upcoming Commander class Skyfire?

"we've" been talking that talk all morning. I like the look of him but his size and price are a little off putting. Not that I disagree with either, just $80 stings and I'm running out of space. I also really like T30 Jetfire as he is more toy/Macross looking to me where Siege is more toon looking. I do really like Siege JF, I'm just torn/undecided and again, that has nothing to do with the figure, just me. What I'm saying is that I'm at a place where I don't feel like I need ever figure as they just keep re-releasing characters over and over again.

I don't have much of an opinion on the faction change gimmick, but would like it more if it wasn't there. Those flipping panels on the MPs with them are annoying and look bad. At least his is hidden and well integrated.

...and can't wait to see how he interacts with the deluxes

I figured Siege Skyfire was $80 -- that's definitely steep, and I really love the T30 Jetfire. But there's the grade schooler in me who needs this toon-accurate, oversized CHUG depiction. It should be cheaper than the 3Ps, at least. I have run out of room, too, honestly. But because of where Jetfire sits in my nostalgic memory (an Xmas miracle lol), I would choose him even over Titan Metroplex for my collection.

Speaking of the collection, I randomly ran across the lovely Universe ROULETTE and had to have her ($20, no gun or sister Shadow Striker lol).

I don't think I've ever seen that figure, or have just completely forgot she existed.

I recognize the mold right away because RID Side Burn is my favorite toy from that line, but when the heck did they use it for a cool Fembot?

Edit: Aha! No wonder. She was a Botcon exclusive. I tend to lose site of those, as I never actively collected them.

Exactly, Cobo, an OTFCC 2003 two-bot exclusive with her sis Shadow Striker! Would have loved to have obtained both, but that would've priced them much higher. My younger bro has Super Sideburn from 2000, so I recognized the mold, but wasn't collecting then. It's always great to add new fembots, though!

She doesn't stand so well, but the G1 aesthetics are appreciated.

Her car mode is stunning, D-Max -- and I really like the mold, too. If you are interested in the mold, I would recommend it -- figuring out her transformation was definitely new, but not impossible. Everything tabbed together pretty well. I'm definitely having some fun with her.

I felt them pretzel twists, Cobo! I knew something had to move here but how to get there? That was the fun.

This is my first personal dip into the RiD 2000s era -- I mainly have G1 and BW, as you all have seen....but I always enjoy new and different characters, regardless of era.

EDIT!

I thought my fave vintage toy store had another Powerdasher (the car), and I was right....but instead, I picked up G1 Override for $15.

I have Gigatron incomplete, Devil Gigatron complete, and Darkscream complete, as well as an incomplete little Hoist. I think my grail for the series would be to get Prime and Magnus, though after the failures of the Encore, I'm a bit hesitant to track them down

I have seen some of those 2000-era RiD bots! I never was good at recognizing any of the later lines (well, anything past 1986, when I originally stopped collecting and went to gaming) -- but I can certainly tell now. I think I've seen that Fire Convoy, too, but the price was steep (or I had spent all my adult allowance on G1 lol). I skipped a Gigatron as well, as he was missing accessories and I felt I got more bang for my buck with Beast Wars. But a cool bot is a cool bot, if I have cash in my pocket.

Listening to a bunch of youtube covers, checking the toys and stuff out on the interwebz, making a MASK ringtone. The intro is so long my VM picks up before it gets going.

Might download Audacity and cut it at the m m m mask part - will be epic!

I use gimp for photo editing and audacity for music edits.

I've never played with sound editing, but Audacity sounds cool. I loved MASK as well, and the toys aren't too expensive yet. But too many rabbit hole!

T-BOB is hilarious. My parents didn't have a sale of my bestformers -- they just let a cousin pick a bunch (the unbroken ones lol)
