The colors from shapeways are definitely off - should be a matching maroon for the torch gun and Japanese 'Con purple for the crab legs, but I always intended to hunt for the legit pieces....these are what I'll use for pics & play till then!

Finback's metal-corroding stun rifle has arrived!
I was lucky to snag it for $3.25, but still no love regarding his harpoon gun (at a reasonable price!).

You handle dissapointment well, much better than me.

Perceptor doesn't really make sense as a Headmaster, and being the Ant-Man of the Transformers isn't really that cool...but he looks like a good, modern incarnation of the character. The original was made of sterner stuff, but if you like IDW Wreckers Perceptor, this is a cheap, official option.

Shapeways delivered Octo's crab legs and acetylene torch today!
They are not the perfect color, and the plastic is hard, but I think they will do great while I hunt down the official accessories. I can't help but still need those -- but it needs to also be for the right price.

In the BW cartoon-canon, you may be right, shaj! I just based these pics on the toy's original tech specs. If I had Doubledealer, Punch/Counterpunch wouldn't have had to pull double-spy duty!

I love getting packages in the mail.

Growing up in the 80s, we didn't have the option to Google something, filter by "Shopping" and impulse-buy.

Instead, there were printed catalogs that you would have to actively seek, unless an order form/instructions were included as part of packaging.
With the internet came lots of options, but if you're vintage-bot shopping, this narrows your choices down considerably.

Which brings me once again to Ultra Pretender Roadblock! He's shipping now, from England. The seller was kind enough to send me these pics.
Back in the day, if an order stated 4-6 excruciating weeks for delivery, Bodyrocker (age 6) would wait by the window, looking for UPS to bring me the latest SSI AD&D tactical RPG for the Apple ][c....
One last tool we have today that helps with the wait, then: the tracking number. Now we can check the progress minute-by-minute!
So in the end, the bane & boon to our existence, the Internet, delivers and lets me know about all the things I never knew I wanted. But it also connected me to fellow TF fans & enthusiasts!

Now, I never collected enough Points & beg my parents to send in for a limited edition figure (like Reflector, Camshaft, etc.), but I always wished Hasbro had kept the program alive! But perhaps that's what the TFCC was all about, minus the Points-collection....

The Pretender shell really sold me on Roadblock, honestly.
And here's his tech specs, since you know that I love it.There's also the 80s art...If I were single and made of money, I would want to check off all the bots on this list!
I could settle for Thunderwing - the Siege on Cybertron set is awesome enough to include him as a Titan Master.....but I'm allzabout dat MEGA Pretender incarnation!

I loved He-Man & Transformers growing up -- but TFs more

I was like a kid in a candy store after discovering a new vintage toy store had opened up in town: Rogue Toys.

They had:
-MP Optimus Prime (MP1)
-the Knights of Unicron (!!)
-Orion Pax (based on G1 Kup)
-G1 Primus (MIB)
-SG Drift (I need dis)
-LOTZ MOAR

There was seriously so much, my head was spinning -- and that was just with his Transformers selection! They were even decently priced, and if I ever needed to sell/trade a figure, it'd most likely be here.

He didn't have any Pretenders, however. ;_;

With all this great stuff, I almost couldn't buy anything - especially since the items I wanted most were all $50+...

But then I went and impulse-bought his loose, KO Deathsaurus for $17. He had just sold the real deal (sealed) the day before, for a mere $1600.

As much as I'd love G1 Dezarus, I could never spend that much! Maybe if I won the lottery, I'd treat myself.
In the meantime, taking out scumbags like Deathsaurus is a job for Octo/Punch VICE!
