There's something charming about the overly simplistic Pretender shell that houses the real Octopunch -- a little guy who's not even Legends class, but better than your average plastic mini-cassette (non-MP!).

I can imagine if I had grown up with these, I certainly would have lost all the accessories -- but there would have been a lot of stories to tell!

Such a neat little dude. I wish I had one.

Love the characterizations for the Prowl Patrol too!

Shajaki & Will -- I was always kinda interested in the Pretenders (within the past 3 years, anyway!), but the prices have always been a bit ridiculous & highly variable. Some will sell you just the shell for cheap, but if you're a completionist and need all the accessories, you may want to be prepared to be nickel&dimed to death.

Octopunch was one of the subsequent releases, after the large Pretenders were initially produced & introduced. But as you can see, there's still plenty of fun to be had.

Hey Cobo! It was silly-stupid fun taking these pics! But I guess I always go for that. 'm glad you liked the mini-dossiers of the PROWL Patrol -- I wouldn't mind taking more pics. I was originally gonna have several shots of each team member helping Prowl "make the right choice".....

I actually have Octopunch. Well, the inner bot anyways (no crab legs unfortunately). And until you started posting these pics I had no idea what it was I just thought he was some Micromaster Crab. I'd love to have a complete one now that I know!

Really though! I'm still shocked by how much I enjoy the little guy -- and still want to hunt down more. I draw the line at $20-$30 for at least the shell + robot, and they gotta be in good/great shape.

When you look at the accessories, I should clarify - you won't be paying in nickels and dimes, but fives and tens. #thievery #demand #supply #ebay

He finally arrived from China -- my TFCC 2010 Punch/Counterpunch KO.
Although both persona-bots look pretty good, it doesn't completely eliminate my potential need for the original G1 incarnation.
I'm wondering if I should put faction symbols on him -- rub sign woulda been best, no doubt. But I'd also have him join the PROWL Patrol!
With that said, he's definitely a knockout knockoff!

Hey Bee!

The quality is good -- joints are tight (for the most part - not as bad as TR Skullcruncher), everything tabs together (although the jetpack/armor parts is not a perfect for one of the tabs), no stickers to worry about and paint apps are clean. The quality on the head is about an 8/10 -- a little rough around the visor and the paint could be touched-up to perfection.

I'm certainly glad I paid $60 as opposed to $120 for the real deal -- he's perfect alongside other CHUGs.

Octopunch ain't getting a romantic interest anytime soon.
Prowl probably made a mistake by letting Octopunch join Counterpunch on the PROWL Patrol's Vice squad.

The cityscape kid-carpet is almost okay, but that other one's just not a cool texture/background.....I am feeling limited by my photo shoot locations!

Current locales include:
-On top of a MacBook with stainless steel fridge background
-White stool with stainless steel fridge background
-On my desk in the study/home office
-In the Cupboard
-On a crappy rug that has streets/cityscape
-On a crappy tan rug in the playroom

I'd prefer outside shots, or at least a larger area to help suspend my disbelief for these pics! I've though of those random diorama/background scenes that some of the online stores offer....but ANGTFDat
