Bodyrocker's Bot-CONivale
Re: Bodyrocker's Bot-CONivale

That Beldr is a real son of a bitch. I was super close to beating him and then he called more minions who charmed him all up and surrounded me. I was dead before I knew it.
Now I am revamping all my demons and splicing to see what I can do. And out of nowhere I discovered Thor!

NICE! Thor is an excellent god to fuse ASAP! Hopefully he has Null or Resist Mind.

But yeah, Thor is always one of those great fusions you want to hold onto -- until your level cap allows you to upgrade again!

Re: Bodyrocker's Bot-CONivale
It's not comic accurate at all but it's quite a lovely face sculpt and a decent enough retool. Not quite as impressive as Brainstorm's but not bad either. Pretty much just a pink Blurr with VTOL wings added. Considering we'll probably not see another Nautica toy for 30 years it's worth it for those interested.Cobotron wrote:Nice shots! Glad you're enjoying the set.
Nautica's face may not be all that accurate to the comic, but looking at your pics, I rather like it.
It's a good femmy face and adheres to a nice classic TF design style.
Great pics Bod

Overall how do you feel about the set?

Any tips on beating Beldr? My team is strong but at the rate he is sucking up our HP all my lashing at him with Devil's Fuge isnt enough.

More impressions and pics coming soon, Cary! And even though I do enjoy the set, I dunno about it as a must-have necessarily, if you already have Sixshot, Op, and aren't wild about Nautica....but I like the clone. Rodimus' face shoulda gone for a smirk instead of looking constipated, though.
This is THE Beldr fight! You definitely want to have you crew be able to take out his minions, surround him, and attack with your MC (main character!) while everyone else blocks (so he wastes turns, etc.). When he calls for bCk-up, make sure there are crew members who can act as choke-points to prevent him from getting healed....while you hit him with the fuge. Any demon or skill that can allow you to attack quicker or multiple times would be very beneficial!
Make sure you can get healed, and amrita just in case you get stoned!

Thats is SOO smart, I didnt think of surrounding him so that he would waste turns, makes way more sense.

I haven't read comics in quite a while, but thanks to IDW and my fellow enthusiasts, I only hate myself for not reading TAAO.
Still having fun with Velocitron.

I do, Co-bro -- we had Laser Prime as our One True Prime (versus Tank Megz!) once G1 Optimus' arms could no longer be kragl'd on. He was beefy, and looked imposing, all things considered.
The new one, of course, is a simple repaint of the TR triple-changing Voyager Optimus that's available, and dat flame-throwing sticker(!).
He reminds me of Star Convoy with his more svelte look....I really like him. He's fun to pose and I almost see him as a different character than my main Optimus.

Its been all week, that **** Beldr is ROUGH! I have gone through som many strategies. Get a ton of Basilisks to not ontribute to Beldr's vempire move. But then they are weak to electricity so they die quickly. Then try a bunch of jack o lantern guys for Charm and being impervious to flame, but then they get stoned by the enemie's basilisk. And then they just get unfair by having electricity weak and electricity strong guys team up on me, making it that I cant use a strong attack to target the weakness of the group. As for creating a barrier around beldr to avoid them healing him, well if I stay too close to him they can still use Charm. And if I give him a space in between, they can fly over me and heal him.
I know I will get it one day but it is a looong road to get there. So much to think about. is he the toughest boss in the game?

Hmmmm....have you tried using any of the kishin race (for Double Up - like Nalagiri), or King Frost? You definitely want a team who can keep support away from Beldr, but be able to beat on him as much as possible....while you get healed. Keep at it Will!

Those demons sound way out of my league. I looked up how to fuse for king frost and got weird stuff like this:
Jack Frost + Frost Ace + Black Frost
Black Frost + Jack Frost + Frost Ace
Frost Ace + Black Frost + Jack Frost
I only know jack frost, I didnt know you could fuse 3 guys. You can? I dont even now how to get black frost and frost ace.
EDIT: I dont think its possible for me to get black frost this early, you only get him the last day apparently
Other Edit: man the internet cant get straight to the punch, I can get him after all but I have to use my Thor

Sacrificing Thor...that sounds right. You shouldn't get attached to any demon until 40+!
But yeah, every boss battle is pretty memorable in this game -- just don't give up! You still have DEVIL SURVIVOR 2 after you beat this one a few times.

Idw's mtmte ***spoilerz***
- Motto: "Spare me this mockery of justice!"

I finally finished the 10 volumes of MTMTE, and wow...it's powerful stuff.
The first "season" (pre-Dark Cybertron) was focused on the often overlooked or unloved Autobots, plus Cyclonus. This was also where the DJD were first introduced. James Roberts has nothing but my admiration for fleshing out all these characters and adding much needed depth to their stories -- and I love Alex Milne's art.
I never loved Rodimus as leader back in '86, but that was partially due to the circumstances around Prime's death...in watching subsequent G1 cartoons again, he grew on me. With being more Hot Rod than Rodimus Prime in MTMTE, this felt like a perfect mix for comedic results. But Roddy is still no Optimus Prime or Orion Pax!
The second season was a bit more serious, with Megatron's arrival. Although I missed the focus on the misfits, Megatron's motivations are very intriguing....
Who is the real Megatron, and does he deserve redemption? If he goes bad again, what is the plan to contain him?!? Because it isn't Fool's Energon....or that MASSIVE CLIFF-HANGER ENDING to MTMTE!
Now, I can finally proceed with catching up on Lost Light!

hey Bodrock, its awesome you caught up. I am still catching up myself. I got really burned at Dark Cybertron but starting picking it up again with cool storylines (like the Last Light). And I am slowly filling the gap in between.
I have a question for you, and anyone reading the comics, and its a question thats been on my mind lately. Do you see it as G1 moreso than you would, say, the fall of cybertron games or the Prime TV show, or the animated tv show?
Because reading these books, the characters are totally different to G1. Theres a mix of beast wars characters, armada designs and totally new things that dont reconcile with G1 at all. It looks like someone was given a sandbox of G1 designs and characters and they revamped it all making it new, just like what has been done for the past 10 years with G1 characters (Prime tv show, the WFC/FOC games, animated, Combiner Wars). Thats not a complaint at all, but it does have me wondering why people still consider it G1 when it is just as removed from the original show as any of the other media stemming from it over the years.

It's IDW's G1, set up like Marvel did with Ultimates: a 'modern' 'retelling' of their 'classic' stories. Starting with Infiltration, it's an entirely new story that has nothing to do (plotwise, and in cases even character-wise) with any previous incarnation. It may borrow, it may homage, but it's not a continuation. It's a new first generation of Transformers stories.
Also, there's a big robutt of a thread kind of along these lines over here, too!

Thanks Va'al!
Hey Will -- there may be only one other person who agrees with me (o. supreme!), but I saw "G1" ending at Transformers the Movie (1986)! I considered Hot Rod & the new crew as G2 and beyond.
I understand why the many different, subsequent incarnations were still included in the very large G1 umbrella....and in my head-canon, I include at least the IDW universe as after those golden days on Earth with Spike - when Prime was idealistic. I can also imagine that for the Transformers, who've been fighting for millions of years, their small amount of time captured in the G1 series of cartoons were just that - a moment in the infinite sea of time, in a single stream of the multiverse.
As far as I'm concerned, it's not My G1, but it's the evolution of a lot of the characters I knew & loved. Possibly in a separate but parallel universe.

If a demon does not appear for fusion, it only means you haven't come across the specific fusion "ingredients" yet, Will! IIRC, I didn't get the right demons to fuse Kresnick till later - then only created him to fuse another anyway. :p

Veloctron set, not a must have thing. I do like how sharp even the plastic is on Rodimus. Quickshot is my fav of the set.
IDW, my opinion or take. I've really only read RID (or what ever it's become) and MtMtE (still need to get to LL) and a few other random books, but I've seen it as a continuation but also reboot/retelling of G1. It seems to be based off the tale of G1 and the things that happened, but they also seem to rewrite history when its conveniently needed. Same, different, I don't really care. I like the stories and art

Hey Bodrock, I am LOVING Devil Survivor. It took a looooong freaken time but I finally know what the deal with the mitamas and other things are. I am a real beast right now, but we will see how long that lasts. From my experience with the game, the moment you get good, the game finds a way to u the challenge. BRING IT ON!
Also, I am really bewildered at how judeo christian this Japanese game is. There is a lot of biblical lore but I dont know how much of it is in the original game. Did they rewrite it or is this telling the same story?

Hey Cary! I really need to play more with Quickshot -- I think it's just I know nothing of him (from either comics or cartoon), except he transforms early & often! Back in the day, all we had to learn about a Bot's character was either the comics, cartoon or tech specs (at the very least!). Of course, this is where imagination comes into play....
Personally, unless I have a hair-brained idea for poses, I enjoy re-creating iconic shots or scenes with the TF figures!
I'm happy to hear you love Devil Survivor, Will! When I first suggested the series to you, I knew I loved 'em and was really hoping you would too.
You will definitely want to play this at least once more (multiple endings!) before you play the second game -- which is just as awesome, imho.
The Shin Megami Tensei games have always focused on gods & demons, and the concepts of Order (which falls under the traditional rule of Christianity and their God), Chaos (Lucifer, demons, might makes right) and some flavor of neutrality (humans remain, reset the world, etc.) -- sometimes, this affects your party members and who can join you.
And hey, as cool as MMC's Calidus looks, is anyone else waiting for them to announce he will come in the Black Roddy colors!?

Re: Bodyrocker's Bot-CONivale
I don't know much of him either, but I'm a toy first kinda guy and I just like cool bots that are fun to play with. I don't think that QS has much info/history honestly.
