Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

To anyone that was at the brand panel at botcon, did hasbro show pictures of the new Armada Starscream? And if so, how does look?

They are just upscaled versions of the Cyberverse versions. WHY WOULDN'T they combine?!? They are the same damn molds people!! :HEADHURTS: The ONLY question you need ask is will the rest be released.

They've got minor tooling changes, like pinned in hips and shoulders instead of just ball joints, and most tellingly, the connection pegs on the inside of Twinstrike and Windrazor's legs that allow them to connect to Hun-Gurrr's arms and form Abominus are gone.

It's possible they might combine in some other way, if there are plans to release the other three Terrorpreds in large scale, but I doubt whether they plan to do that. These six Cyberverse upscales are a filler in early 2014 to allow Hasbro to milk the Prime line a little more at low cost until they can ship the movie toys that they're doubtless working on right now.

I see what you are talking about...small details escaped me at 2am-ish 8-} ...well that and I really kinda just laughed at the GIANT Legion figs and moved on to the really cool stuff

If not for the Generations line and potentially more Masterpiece goodness coming stateside I'd be saving a lot of money this year and into next :KREMZEEK:

Ryan,

Can you describe Tailgate? What mold do they use? Is he a repaint of Scout class Windcharger, with hopefully a new head mold? Or is Tailgate a new mold?

Honestly, PRID Bumblebee is easy enough to transform, while still looking like a good representation of the show model. Same goes for the BH Optimus Prime and even Predaking. They're not difficult transformations to master. Smokescreen is a little trickier, mostly beacuse he's a bit fiddlely. Are kids really having that much of a problem with these toys? I know there's been a big push for simpler transformations beginning with DotM in response to the very intricate and difficult offerings from RotF, but this is getting a bit silly. Have the fun of Transformers is challenging yourself. Maybe they're aiming for a much younger group, just graduating from Rescue Bots?

Well, it doesn't help that the transformation instruction SCROLLS read like an IKEA instruction booklet. Seriously, my fave thing to do now (when I get a new TF and wife is around) is to slowly open up the instructions and completely obscure my face! Most TF's are something like 15-25 steps, right? It's pretty overwhelming, if you're looking at the instructions...

I definitely think these upscaled legions are EXCELLENT FOR CHILDREN.

For example, I think my 2 year old might be able to handle the BB or Smokescreen. :-? Well, I'll try and help him and see how it goes. But I'll be waiting for TJ Marshaxx to pick these up - I'm not paying $13 for big legions. (Although, then again, the Rescue Bot TF's are $13 anyway, and these legion deluxes feel eerily similar /:) ).

My little nephew, just shy of 3 years old, LOVES his transforming Rescue Bots. After a little instruction, he easily picks up on how to transform each one, and will play for hours happily. He especially loves making them jump throug the air as a vehicle and then transform mid-air and land on their feet. I can see these up-sized legion Deluxes as a good stepping stone for more complex toys, but honestly, many of the Prime figures, especial the PRID Bumblebee mold, are incredibly easy already. Heck, you just pull PRID Bumblebee's legs down and from the waist up, he practically auto transforms when you pull his arms out. I can see the potential niche Hasbro is trying to hit, but it seems so small.

I know a lot of people are going to hate these 'simplified deluxe' figures but I think I'm really going to like them. Especially the Predacons. I wonder what the price point will be for them with them being so simple.

I see your point from looking at the images above, but the Legion BB is still a lot simpler to transform.

I highly doubt those are actually Deluxe class. Probably a mislabeling. Either that, or they used the wrong stock photos. We all know how terrible Hasbro's stock photos are.

Everything else looks awesome.

Nope, they're all listed correctly.

Are u kidding me look at the pics those are legend class

Here I come to save the day:

Transformers Prime Deluxe Class 2014
--------------------------------------------------
(Talked about going back to basics, demonstrated how easy it was to transform G1 Optimus Prime)
Bumblebee w/ dragon shredder sword (basically looks like large version of Legion class, less complicated = bigger toy)
Windrazor (basically deluxe class sized version of Legion class)
Smokescreen
Twinstrike

Not to mention the little suckers were on display at location:

I wouldn't be as pissed if they had given them a few more joints, and retained the combining gimmick with Sinnertwin and Cutthroat (and the other TerrorPreds, if they are destined to have the same fate).
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Oh, that's bad. Really, really bad.

I don't mind so much with the Terrorcons, as thy do still look quite nice despite the limited articulation (here's to hoping they do release the others and retain the combining) but Smokescreen and Bumblebee look absolutely awful.

Upsized commander Predaking actually looks better than the original Voyager figure. Same with Prime. Everything else looks great.

Also, where's this Armada Starscream? I didn't see his picture...I have the Armada Starscream and I absolutely love him, so seeing him get a new figure is awesome news.

No images yet. These are merely initial reveals, kinda like the wave three or four of the Thrilling 30 line. We'll see the gloriousness that is Armada Starscream and the rest of the not-pictured announcements in two weeks' time, at SDCC. Boy, it's going to be a long two weeks... :(

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I do hope that they give him a smirk to equal his original toy. Sure, Armada Starscream had some flaws, but that smirk was absolutely glorious. Seriously, I would hang a sculpture of that smirk on my wall.

Well, he wasn't very well articulated, with his limited hips and well jointed but oddly mounted arms. Also he's a bastard to stand up with his big backpack, and his wing sword likes to fall out of the wing socket.

Still, I love him.

I... I was joking. I know the flaws of the toy (I don't own Starscream, but I own his powered-up form/separate character, Thundercracker).

I was referencing the fact that Armada Starscream is so alpha he not only flipped off MegaGalvatron by calling him out in front of Optimus Prime, but he also persuaded Galvatron to fight alongside Optimus by flipping off Unicron and dying in a much more awesome way than anything Beast Wars Dinobot could ever pull off. I say again: flipping off Galvatron and Unicron. Can't get any more alpha than that.

It's pretty much just people flipping out over the awesome Generations stuff, and mixed reactions the Prime stuff. I don't think anybody likes the Legion upscales very much, and the proper deluxes attract different opinions as well.

I had the same thoughts (my 2 yr old would like these a lot!), but the price point is right in the picture (look below): $12.99.

In other words, the toys have been dumbed down, but the prices remain the SAME! That is, unless, Target/Walmart can shave a couple bucks off (i.e. the deluxes now go for $12.99, though their MSRP is $14.99). I doubt these will sell all that well, so the initial price of $12.99 will inevitably dip to something more reasonable.

What's your bite point? I'm thinking... $6.99? >:oP

Hasbro would have to pay me to accept one for free. So, negative $12.99. 8)
