It might be the opposite with instead the body having the DOTM look while the head has a G1 look. Or it could even be some other guy who isn't Megatron but whose body is colored like DOTM Megatron. We'll have to wait and see.Rated X wrote:gothsaurus wrote:Yeah, I can see how it might work with an obscure character... but for a heavy hitter like Megatron walking out of the movie and into the Botcon set... it would feel weird.
A megatron with a classics body and a DOTM head would be the most stupid thing funpub ever came up with. I really hope they dont disgrace the breakdown mold in that fashion.

In vehicle mode, DoTM Megatron was a pretty compact voyager class figure. He could fit in the egg. I say the Boss will be in the small egg, though. Just for laughs. It would be hilarious if it was a redeco of Armada Leader-1. (No chance.)Sabrblade wrote:It might be the opposite with instead the body having the DOTM look while the head has a G1 look. I don't quite follow.Rodimus Prime wrote:In vehicle mode, DoTM Megatron was a pretty compact voyager class figure. He could fit in the egg.
I too had considered their making the Boss be the smallest one. But then we got the leak from Pete's desk, and then the I numbers sprang up on BotCon.com, and one thing led to another, and so here we are.Rodimus Prime wrote:I say the Boss will be in the small egg, though. What I dont get is why Megatron would even be an option when CW Megatron just got released ? (Not to mention Armada Megatron) Isnt the whole idea behind Botcon repaints to give fans obscure characters that Hasbro/Takara wont ? There is no shortage of classics Megatrons, so what's the point ?
Toys Hasbro/Takara won't? Yes. Only obscure toys? Not necessarily.Rated X wrote:Isnt the whole idea behind Botcon repaints to give fans obscure characters that Hasbro/Takara wont ?

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Ok, now only the Boss and Bounty Hunter remain. Let's recap what we have:
1.) the Boss will most likely be based on something from Dark of the Moon with 62811 (June 28 2011, movie premier) and something else with 484 (4-84, 48-4, 4-8-4, or "DHD" even).
Anyone?

And this wouldn't be a Classics version of Megatron. It would be just a brand new Megatron in and of itself, like how the Megatrons of Beast Wars, RID 2001, Armada/Energon/Cybertron, the movies, Animated, and Prime all were.
The Club doesn't cater specifically to Classics collectors. That's never been its main priority.
Lemme stop ya right there for a sec. Classics didn't come out until 2006, and during which time it was just a filler line made to buy time for the upcoming movie toys and not meant to continue past 2007 (this is why the BotCon 2007 set was a means to finish off the Classics line). Fun Pub's first exclusives were in 2005 (like you said), which was before Classics even existed. So what exactly was Fun Pub trying to do at the time back then when Classics neither existed nor was meant to be as big as it would become a few years later?Rated X wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Toys Hasbro/Takara won't? I respectfully disagree. Almost everything Funpub has released since 2005

Pete outright said that Stepper's paint scheme came from a reversal of the Primary/trim colors on the original. The reddish (orange? yeah...) flame decals on black, inverted to black flames on a reddish (orange?)
But your right, I do see Lugnutz, intentional or not.
