Huh, it looks nice, black redecos have a tendency to look classy, this doesn't dissapoint

I think he'll be another character, an Optimus makes sense given there's a Megatron on the set, but there's no way Hasbro will allow a toy to bear that name without a proper Optimus Prime head.the deco is very nice, though.

The Crosscut head has a vaguely Optimus feel to it...

The Thunderclash mould is still a lot more "primey" ( ) than Roadster... I wonder if this repaint will get the Euro G2 name for G2 Optimus, "Sureshot" is a military enough name.

That's for sure- I was just thinking of the head I hope it's a new character- I'm Optimus and Bumblebee'd out for the next several years

Oooh. I like the idea of the name being Sureshot (Prime). I may call mine that regardless of what he's called on the proverbial box.

sure it's a different mould to the original that was named Sureshot, but the name hasn't been used since has it?

Would anyone else be totally down for a box set of black repaints? Make them a Black-Ops (awful pun intended!); the stealthy brains to The Wreckers muscle, and write a story around the concept.

-Some Black Voyager???

Blackarachnia, Onyx Primal, Ravage, BW Scorponok, and Bonecrusher can be their adversaries in the add-on sets.

When you say Tracks, Sideswipe, and Ironhide, I'm assuming you're talking about Classics/Universe. With that assumption made, I wouldn't even both with a black voyager. You can throw a black Reveal the Shield Jazz in there, or a black Hound, and You'd have a good 5 pc set. Hell, throw a black Wheeljack in there, see how well it sells. I'd buy it...

I was just trying to think of black redecos we haven't gotten out of Classics/Generations. I didn't care who the characters are too much, or what molds they come from. But black is always in.

That's a sharp deco Skids is wearing there.

Well, if anything this thread makes me want to buy a Generations Crosscut.

Yeah, I have to agree. A box set with a very clear theme — like five black figures — seems like a really good way to go.

While I admit, I DO like getting some figures that match with previous years SG or G2 sets... I don't want the ones in the set to appear random... and it's seemed that way for quite a few years now. Even the Machine Wars set had Beast Machines heavily mixed into its content... and the G2 set had SkyByte in it.

Looking back, I think the Stunticon, SG year one, Beast Wars redux and Wings set nailed it.

Again, I DO want an assortment of figures that throw a nod to various fans and factions... I just want the set to be really matchy-matchy. (all black, all white, all Diaclone homage, all race cars, all one gestalt, all one TV show...

BUT getting back on track... the more I look at this black Skids, the more I love it. Absolutely excellent.

100% agree - clear themes for the box set! The random figures should be the polybagged attendee sets.

(Of course, I'm guessing some of these weird box sets may be dictated by which five toys they can actually FIT in the box. (???)) I'll try to cut them a little slack.

Why is this year's theme so hard to understand? It is what it was said to be back when it was first announced. Five misfit criminals from different walks of life (and worlds) brought together by common purpose.

Emphasis on the "misfit" part.
