I like Goldbug, but not enough to buy the set. I'm glad I decided to skip this set (and have cash to buy a Takara Starscream and Astrotrain plus all of the Classics 2.0 and a SDCC Nemesis Prime) to everyone that bought the set, hope you like it. But it's nowhere near as good as last years.

P.S. Prime is really bothering me, it's such a bad paint job on a great mold.

(sorry for the extra rant but he's the ugliest figure I've seen in a long time)

I don't see why everybody is making such a big deal about the blue head. Go look at G1 Goldbug. If you don't think it looks good on this body, well, that is your opinion. The only thing that bothers me is the size of those bulging red eyes. Blue head doesn't bother me one bit.

If they had used a darker shade of blue and had more gold than black showing, at least in robot mode, I think this would have been an excellent tribute to G1 Goldbug. The paintjob in vehicle mode really looks sharp...for some other character. Never would guess by looking at it that it remotely has anything to do with Goldbug, which I feel is a total failure if they are going to give it the Goldbug name. If this new Botcon set is, however, Autobots that are evil (but still retain the Autobot logo) then my previous comments don't apply and both Goldbug and Prime fit the bill nicely. I would love to get my hands on this set but I don't think this is going to be my year. Next year isn't looking to good either...

I'm sorry, but I think this is really weak. It's like they randomly picked a toy out of a hat and said "lets throw this head on that one and paint it again" I just don't buy it.

Yeah, this one is not doing it for me either. I really expected a shiny gold repaint of classics BB.

I think both characters look awesome! Goldbug with his original G1 head looks great! Considering they did Bugbite last year with BB's classic mode. I'm glad they used a new mold. Having a Black Classics prime is just sweet to go along with my classics and Takara tomy figures. It will be hard to beat last years set, but as a whole looking back at all the box sets and loose figures you just can't complain! I hope jazz looks good and hope they do a G1 colored Grimlock and don't go with the RID green from Landfill.
